I talked to Sage in person after he won the Lake Sonoma 50 a couple weeks ago. Even after fighting through a grueling 50 miles, dueling some super fast guys, and coming out on top, Sage was kind and genuine and even took the time to ask about my running career. It's not that he didn't have better things to do or beers to drink. I think if you're a good dude after racing 50 miles, you're probably a good dude. Keep rocking it Sage!

Obvious that most of the negative comments directed towards Sage would stem from jealousy. Personally I am jealous of him that he has very little facial hair - you don't know how much of a blessing that actually is haha.

Your haircut? The state of your facial hair? Your fashion choices? Sage you are a fucking stud, full stop. Give absolutely no credence to these posers who don't have an ounce of the drive or talent you have. Your motivating and educating a ton of aspiring runners myself included. I love what you do, keep it up, and NEVER change!! #fuckthehaters

Right on, Sage. Loved the new running footage and classical music over it. Also, keep on keeping on with the videos and blogs. Like you said, the sport of distance running is big enough for everyone and we should all be trying to lift each other up, not crap on those who have different goals in the sport than us. Famous opera soprano Maria Callas said, "When my critics stop hissing, I will know I'm slipping." Maybe your next training run video can have some of her music playing just to thumb your nose at the critics!

Please be safe on those snowy trail especially when are filming and looking into the camera. My wife is always scared when you run in snow while looking into the camera. Sage- what you are doing is simply incredible. I am really amazed people can even see those stupid thing while there is so much of information, awareness, inspiration is overflowing from your videos. We don't care for them at all. I really respect your view for all fellow runners. If you run then you are runner. If you are trying your hardest then distance or elevation does not matter. It is the beauty of this sport that you are competing to yourself all the time. You cannot define a runner by distance or speed or wins. We love you man. Keep the good work going. You are an inspiration

Sage, physical appearance is stupid. I was mocked throughout school about my weight and now thanks to you, Ginger Runner, and others, I love running now, and I could beat most of those people that mocked me now in distance running. Keep it up Sage. Really appreciate your videos - they're entertaining and so it's useful/rare to get insight from the mouth of someone running at such a high level. The internet is a wonderful tool that that has taken information dissemination out of the hands of big business and broadcasters into the hands of niche experts like yourself. Downside is it also gives a voice to petty minds who would rather criticise mindlessly rather than add anything constructive. Please ignore the detractors, I'm sure that 99% of viewers are loving what you are doing.

You are not only a great elite runner that motivates everyone with social media and your KZbin videos that rock! You are a pretty cool, nice, down to earth dude ! Listening to Hayden hawks saying " sage was a super cool team mate" then after the lake Sonoma 50, people saying that you encouraged everyone along the way while coming back! Everybody loves you bud, so to those haters/bullies, don't even pay attention to their negative vibes, because maybe all they are looking for is for someone to pay attention to them, and for sure they are jealous of you my friend ! Keep it up Sage!!!

Thanks for speaking your mind about the "Them versus Us" dialog, which has apparently been festering since I don't know when. Your well thought out, mature and informative take on it all is a great example of how you 'Keep It Real'. As for your family background, your impressive 20 or so years running history, your current goals and ambitions and your social media interactions you've been and continue to be an inspiration to not only my personal running/training/racing and life in general, but to how much I've come to more so and more so enjoy following many who participate in this great multifaceted adventure of running.

Can't wait to see the UTMB race, you will do well on it! amazing footage of the run but I struggled to hear the music as the wind noise was loud at times. Good luck!

Old saying, Haters hate you because they aint you. There is no "look" to distance running. Just determination to get to your goal. I am running my second half marathon this month and another half in Sept. Next year I hope to get in to trail races and get faster in general. Having never run before age 24, late to the game a bit but with your and Sandi's tips I have not had a single injury and enjoyed running more. Your sponser plugs are nice since its clear you actually use the products.
