Before the church was sold to the mosque owners, a Christian congregation in Louisiana wanted to buy the pews, windows, etc.. But that would have left the building as an empty hulk with wood over the windows; or the Syracuse diocese could have torn it down.. It is better that the building be used; rather than just sitting there empty; or being turned into a parking lot. Eventually, the stained glass windows with crosses and Bible scenes could be sold to a congregation that is building a new or restoring an old church. (and new, thermo-windows installed - Syracuse is cold during the winter) That way, the now- covered windows could let in more light. That old, late 19th and early 20th century stained glass is very valuable. It is not made anymore … And it is beautiful!

I will say, ‘They are my people’; and they will say, ‘The Lord is my God.’” 2/3 of all Jews will die. 1/3 will confess their guilt and the guilt of their fathers and be saved by Jesus Christ who will appear in the clouds of heaven and destroy the AntiChrist and all the armies of the earth who have converged on Israel in an attempt to exterminate 100% of the Jews. 1/3 will come to Jesus and say, "The Lord is my God." 2. Muslims do not honor the true Jesus. The Jesus Muslims honor is false. Jesus is no one's apostle. Jesus is no one's prophet. Jesus was captured, judged and sentenced to death for one reason: HE CLAIMED TO BE GOD! And the Jews considered this blasphemy because they didn't believe He was although He came to die - Isaiah 53:1-12. So they found Him guilty of Leviticus 24:16 punishable by death. Whoever does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent him." If you do not honor Jesus exactly as you honor God the Father, YOU DO NOT HONOR JESUS OR THE FATHER! The Father is not judge. Well, that is stupid thinking. Why should we be happy that a church turns into a mosque just because you have some concept of God? It is a pity anyways when a church has to be closed, doesn't matter then if it turns into a bar or a mosque. Neither God is honored in a strip bar nor in a mosque, so it is both a sin. I also don't agree on your point that a mosque is a place of unity and that it does good for the locals. It is actually a place for Muslims only and other people don't have anything good from it - even a bar would serve more people, for example. I think they should have done a social center or a nursing home in it. That would really help the surrounding people and not a huge mosque that accomodates around 15 people in it.
