Very inspiring stories. I'm African-American, and I have been researching my families roots vigorously as of late. My father passed away in 2006. He served in Vietnam. I actually have pictures of him while serving. Some pictures stand out because it's him with Asian women. He has 1 woman on 2 pictures. So the thought of me having possible siblings born there was always something often contemplated on because my dad was a ladies man in his younger days. I'm considering having a DNA test done. Although if something comes about, they would never have the opportunity to meet him but I would be able to bring some type of closure for someone.

Just having read related books and visited Vietnam recently led me to this excellently put together documentary. I cried my eyes out when Morris thanked his father for giving him life and being able to celebrate his birthday with his biological family. Wars did awful things. Many soldiers also did horrible things with or without knowledge. Not just Americans, but just about everyone who participated and supported. So many wars still rage on today and no doubt unthinkable acts are being committed. When will we ever learn?

Morris was lucky that his family lived in the South where nuclear families still exist and flourish. Thank you to Morris’ family for accepting him into your world.
