Vocabulary, Licks, & Language, Set 2 by Randy Hunter at beginningsax.com includes 13 videos based on ii-V-I phrases. The licks are analyzed and broken down into components that turn them into bits and pieces of improvisation language. You’ll find licks built from basic vocabulary and a few transcribed from solos of great players like Sonny Rollins, Scott Hamilton, Gene Ammons, and Stan Getz. (Written files included).
I perform the licks and lessons on tenor sax, but transpositions are included making everything accessible for alto sax players concert pitch instruments. These are even great for jazz vocalists.
Here's a direct link to the Vocabulary, Lick, & Language purchase page on my website - be sure to check out Set 1 also: beginningsax.c...

I always wind up feeling more confident about the theory -- as well as overall concept-- after watching your videos. Vey, very underrated channel. Thanks again, Randy. And Happy New Year, brother. Peace ☮

Thank you, Randy! I’m looking forward to practicing these licks and moving them through different keys. I greatly appreciate you modeling how to analyze the theory behind a solo. 🎷

I started playing the first lick of set 1 this morning in two keys. The first observation is I have not worked on descending lines nearly enough and scales too much. The good thing about practicing licks is finding the intervals that don't come naturally. Those are the spots that need the most attention.

This is great, Joel. When you can identify self-perceived weaknesses and focus at least part of your practice there, you will get better! Good luck with your practice. Keep me updated on your progress.

@@RandyHunter Today, I searched for a tune to play it over and settled on footprints. I made it fit in the 3/4 time at a slower tempo. I like how it sounds, especially how it lays in over the G-7 chord.

How do you like your 10mfan piece? You sound good on it. It seems to me that all mouthpieces are more or less variations on a theme. How does it compare to a link?

I love the piece. Unfortunately, Mark, the maker, is not currently making this piece. He has one called the Showboat that he tells me is great. If you're interested in learning more about the pieces just drop me an email and I'll send you his contact info. For me, they're the best pieces on the market. Far better than any Link I've ever played.
