ACTUALLY to the people who don't know the original story this song is connected to Gumi's song "I (Love)" Because Gumi and Luka fell in love but Luka thinks its wrong to be in love with a girl forcing herself into a relationship with a boy. In Gumi's song she says how she still loves her and in Luka's song she's trying to convince her that it was never real to began with even know she knows its a lie and still clearly has feelings for her too.

1, she shows cases of denial, but she questions everything, like "why don't I cry for you." Then singing lines like I love you, and we are perfect. In Love, you can tell Gumi has some serious insecurities, and it seems like Luka does too. The diagnosis is teenage hormones, they are confused thanks to puberty, and probably influenced by society and their friends as well, Luka likely getting the worse of it, as Gumi is care free about their love in her song "Love" while Luka is in denial, it appears someone is influencing her, or her mind is telling her that her love towards Gumi is wrong, and she's having a internal conflict. Luka lies to herself, telling her that it's wrong, and she's just toying with Gumi's emotions, but it's completely shattered when she says "And maybe, one day I'll get to see your smile, in the arms of someone, who loves you like I do." I don't know what happened to my original message, so many spelling errors and random characters, could of sworn it wasn't like that.

THEORY: Luka and Gumi are going out and everything is fine. Until Luka starts to question their relationship and being in love with a girl. The Kagamine twins make fun of their relationship causing Luka to break-up with Gumi (I'M SORREH IF I COPIED ANYONE, I DON'T READ COMMENTS). Then, she goes out and dates Kaito but Gumi still loves her. In this song, she tries to convince Gumi that their love was just a Lie. In Gumi's song I (Love), she explains that she wants to save Luka from "him" or Kaito. They are working on Kaito's song.

You see, MY thought was Gumi broke up with Luka. Luka was playing along, hence the line "I don't want you, I don't need you, it doesn't matter." When she says the line "No! This is all wrong! Why aren't you gone?" after Gumi continues being around her with Kaito. Afterwards, she realizes it's inevitable and gives in, hence the line "And maybe someday I'll see your smile, in the arms of someone who loves you like I do."

Oldmonkey Stargrabber I have heard from many people the first theory. The reason why Luka says those things is because she is trying not to like Gumi, trying to convince herself that she likes Kaito (and some have said Gakupo, idk who it is), but her feelings for Gumi make her question herself, hence why she questions herself like that. Then eventually realizes her feelings for Gumi, which is the end of this song and continues to the next song in this series, Circus Monster, which is sung by Luka, which is about how Luka is looking for Gumi to tell her how she feels, and how bad she feels for leaving Gumi and her shame from the Kagamine twins for leading her from Gumi (she calls herself a Circus Monster as a metaphor for how bad she feels), but then in the last song in the series, Finale 2, Luka finds out that Gumi is dead and talks about committing suicide. That is what I have heard, and I think it sounds the best

I think that, once you pair the songs together, it's about Luka who was confused on her sexuality and tried it out with GUMI, who is lesbian/bisexual. Luka realised from the beginning that it didn't feel right; but she didn't want to break GUMI's heart. Eventually, she fell in love when another person, a man, and still didn't end it with GUMI because she didn't want to cause her friend pain.

Okay, what I understand is that Luka and Gumi's relationship was an experiment, but they fell in love with each other. I (Love) is the continuation of this song, Gumi's part, and it explains this a little more. Then the Kagamine twins, lions in this, made fun of their relationship and so Luka ran away. Luka lies to herself and Gumi saying she doesn't care, Gumi knows she does though, and wants to save her from "him", whom I'm assuming is their creator or master, the one who made them get together. At least, this is what I understand about it.

Idk about the storyline so much, but I get the feeling that Luka really did love Gumi in a way, and she was torn between staying because part of her didn’t want to let go, but ultimately it didn’t seem like-at least from her perspective-that Gumi was actually happy, and that spread to Luka, making her miserable too. I believe Luka is pretending to be in love with Gumi to protect her feelings. Luka is probably trapped feeling in love with Gumi and yet she wants to leave Gumi but she is conflicted. Gumi may be too upset when Luka tries to leave causing Luka to feel guilty and to stay in the relationship. She wants to see Gumi with someone else who will make her happy but she is also probably sad deep down knowing that she will lose Gumi. It sounds pretty toxic because Luka is only staying and lying to keep Gumi happy. And it's sad because deep down Gumi knows.

Ok lemme tell you, lemme tell you. This is how the story really goes(how the creator said it was). Luka is dating a guy(possibly kaito or gakupo) to get the feelings of falling in love with gumi gone. She ends up thinking about gumi again and wishes to go back with her, but she doesn't know if she will actually take her back or not. Then in I (Love), it shows that gumi actually does have feelings back for her and will try anything to get back with her. The main problem at first is the fact that luka feared about people not thinking the same about her since she's a lesbian so she broke up with her (people hating homosexuality and such) but now it's that they don't realize that they both have feelings for the other.

Luka and Gumi are dating in this. That's proven in the answer song I (Love) by Gumi. You're not very good at looking things up my friend. What's legitimately happening in the song with no text talk is that Luka is dating Gumi and half of her loves her so much and wants to stay with her while the other half has gone stale and doesn't think they should be together anymore. She puts up a facade so Gumi won't notice but it's obvious she's faking. (Stated clearly in I (Love)) Gumi can see her fake affections and pretends to not notice in hopes of keeping the relationship going. She is determined to 'save' Luka (Either if be from 'him' or her negative feelings... I don't know) so she will love her. There are no statements to the ending of this in either songs. There might be with Kaito's upcoming song continuing the series. (I think it might be his side of him trying to 'steal' Luka from Gumi. I had an old friend who told me to listen to this song when we were transitioning out of being friends after a really long, extended fight. I was sad back then to hear this song and then hear Gumi's I (love) song as a reply song, because Gumi was exactly how I felt. I didn't want this new girl that came along to just go and steal my old friend from me like she did. I wanted to stay with my old friend and be with her forever, ignoring how much we were both hurting so badly; for reasons I still don't understand to this day. It makes me cry, because now it's been 6 years since that has ever been a problem. But now I can see through this song, how she really felt. How she tried so hard to hate me and could see me trying to do everything I could to get her to stay with me. I was always so in love with her. In some ways, I still am. I wish I could give it up. I feel so bad for everything that happened.
