Both have wide ranges but Sohyang has QUALITY and a balanced mix, That's what sets her apart from 99.99% of vocalists.

Yung Sung is good and she’s talented, the only thing showcased about her is her ability to sustain high notes, which is cool, but doing it CONSTANTLY makes me feel irritated at an extent. Sohyang knows how to put her high notes at the perfect places and she does it very tastefully as well, wether it’s phrasing or sustaining, she doesn’t bore me personally.

what sets Sohyang on a much better scale for me is that her artistry and approach to her notes are very pleasing to any casual listener. i find her emotional connection to any songs she sang to be quite unmatched, and she doesn’t necessarily need to hold a phrase or note due to this since her delivery varies from song to song. another thing is her agilty, where she can do riffs and runs throughout her upper range with such ease. Yun Sung is a beast in her own right, but she’s playing in another court and that’s not in Sohyang’s. if it’s like rock and roll (which fits her love for sustained belts) then i’ll go see her, but more emotional performances i’d say Sohyang all day everyday.

I'll go for So Hyang because she has everthing, range, quality, skill and EMOTION in every songs that she sing and she's not just go higher and higher but she has emotion in it

Your strict reaction's really fun. You better be benign to Miss Yoon, kind of a underdog. Lol. She is a rock-based newcomer but doesn't look that promising in popularity I think due to her monotone. Sohyang's also struggled to overcome similar limit so far with lots of techniques developed though. Btw you don't have to get it wrong. I'm afraid its editor couldn't find her videos on other stages.

the funny thing is; the one who made the compilation is obviously biased to Yun Sung , he chose longer clips of her on a competition stage with clear audio and purposely chose a lot of fan cam performances of sohyang with low quality audio and shorter clips, but still sohyang won at the end lmao , sohyang's power and tone cannot be replicated.

I found it really weird cause Sohyang is literally his number one above everybody!! I think it should've just been a compilation of her vocals instead of a vocal battle esque kind of video!!

I mean, to be fair for the person who created compilation, there was only a very few limited clips of Yun Sung when the video was created. From my understanding, she was (At the time) quite a small singer who's usually buried under everything, and the only clips of her you could really find are the ones you're seeing, most of which were from the same season of the same show. Also, she's a rock singer, I'm pretty sure. That's why you're hearing her vibrato being exaggerated and hearing distortion in some clips. It's what was on trend for the genre in her country at the time. They aren't signs of a lack of technique, they're actually technically fine, just artistic choices to fit the genre she sings better.
