If you have not yet heard this man sing, prepare yourself to be absolutely blown away... mesmerised, enchanted, baffled, overwhelmed...
We usually see Dimash on huge stages, with big sound and lighting design, costuming, dancers, etc. He thrives and displays his very dramatic performance persona so well in these kinds of settings.
In today's video, however, it's just him, inn front of a studio microphone. But don't be fooled: you're still going to see and hear him do things with his voice, that I have not seen any other vocalist do!

Thank you for noticing and appreciating Dimash‘s ability to choose so many aspects of sound to convey the lyrics and evoke the emotion of the song. I think that some people misunderstand some of the notes he sings as Dimash showing off. However, if you have watched some of his interviews and documentaries them you would understand his desire to be true to the song. Additionally, if you, as a singer, had Dimash‘s mastery and range, could you really choose not to use it when you feel certain notes convey the emotion or bring the audience to a certain place? Dimash has worked incredibly hard and continues to learn - it‘s what he enjoys!

Check out Samaltau 2020 Tokyo Jazz Fest. Filmed at home during Covid. It's a traditional song. Two musicians each on a traditional instrument. Dimash cross legged on a stool. And of course a slight music backing track. But it's just him and those instruments. It would be nice if you listened to the complete work then analyze. Just so you and your listeners can experience the song in its full context. Your natural expressions are reaction enough. Dimash just leaves us in awe.

The English translation being displayed is not the lyrics of the Tamaki Koji song, but the lyrics of the Chinese version which he initially sang on the 2017 The Singer show. What Dimash is conveying is the Japanese nuance and feeling of the original composition, not the Chinese translation. I am fluent in Japanese, and his mastery of Japanese nuance is superb. ALL my Japanese friends are blown away by his performance.

I'm glad you mentioned the tenor notes. Mostly professionals don't pay attention to it, but I don't understand why. Are there any singers (other than professional operatic tenors) who sing with a natural chest voice in the fourth and fifth octaves? I dont think so . The same thing happens during the reaction of Sos, no one mentions the perfect B4, but this note is high for any tenor and is very difficult to sing with full resonance. As for this song, once again it is clear that he is the most versatile singer I have ever seen, such a perfect vocal and technical performance is simply incredible. From classical vocals to contemporary techniques, everything is excellent, not to mention his appassionato.

The way I found to celebrate the majesty of Dimash's talent was to have written the following about him: If I were to rule the world, I would immediately add, to the universal declaration of human rights, another article (they would become 31) whose wording would next "All human beings have the right, at least once in their lives, to hear Dimash sing". I am a Professor and I believe that I have a special profession that allows me to transform the human heart and consequently the human society. I work with young people and young people need to have good references. I had been looking for someone for a long time, of whom I could speak to the young people I work with, as a good reference. That person should be young, a super talent, a super mega star in the art world and above all, because he is the most important, a good human person. I searched and never found anyone with these characteristics. Until, finally, I found this person and that person is Dimash. I had the opportunity to say this to Dimash, personally, when I was with him in Latvia where I went, coming from Portugal (there are 8000 km round trip), on the 7th of March 2020. With friendship Rui Baptista

The Crown Jewel of vocal ability. In recorded history there has never been a Dimash., he is an orchestra unto himself. With a soprano mother and a pop vocalist father, he is the birth of his own genrre. P'opera combines all the elements available to the human instrument. Yes - he is the greatest vocalist ever. Not 'once in a generation' or 'in a century' but anywhere - any time. Yes, given he had somewhat of a genetic 'leg up' with both parents well regarded singers in Kazakhstan, but he has also been engaged in Olympic Gold Standard Level Vocal training '( hours per day - every day,) since the age of 5 across every genre of music, and he is now 29. So, yes, he has a huge and well 'built' toolkit to choose from. For others, particularly here in the 'Western World' that might sound very onerous, even borderline child abuse! But for Dimash, Yes, he's somewhat of a perfectionist, but he lives and breaths music. Aside from his formal hours of training, people around him say he never STOPS singing, humming, vocalising, composing - probably also in his sleep!

Great analysis although it's a shame that you didn't use the proper version on Dimash's channel which has the proper translation in the subtitles. Apparently this uploader (I won't use the word fan as no true fan of Dimash would take views away from his own channel) took extreme liberties with the lyrics.
@Snarky_Tart
@Snarky_Tart 8 ай бұрын
Thank you for saying it. This uploader has been directly confronted a few times with how offensive and misleading it is with what she does to Dimash's videos. She doesn't care. With each song she imposes her simplistic A-B-A-B rhyme scheme onto arguably some of the greatest lyric poets in the world, and she imposes her own overwrought gothic romance novel interpretation onto arguably one of the greatest interpretive singers in the world. (Of course I wasn't quite as confrontational as that in attempting to persuade her to stop. But I don't care about her feelings anymore.) She argued that she makes it clear in her descriptions that the meaning of her "poetry" isn't a translation and that it has no connection to the meaning of the original lyrics. As she was informed, reactors/analysts are provably misled into assuming otherwise. She doesn't care. I'm glad to see that you're offended by it also. For years I've felt like the lone stranger with this opinion ❤

Thank you so much for reacting to my favorite song by Dimash. It would have been nicer to use the actual Japanese translation as you would have noticed that he sang “Don’t go” (ikanaide) in different ways (as the original song-writer intended, to vary the repetitive chorus) throughout the song. With the original lyrics, you can understand the growing desperation in Dimash’s voice to have his love stay with him, and his final acceptance (humming) of her leaving. Overall a great analysis of Dimash’s vocal talents! Thanks!! ❤️

Please don't go, please don't go, let's stay as we are Someday Someday the heart will be somewhere far away and everything will become a memory though it's better not to know though it's better not to know Ah... Thank you so much for reacting to Dimash but if you’d like to react to more of his high soprano notes, then please may I suggest Olympico (taken from his 2021 Digital Show) as the sound is far more clearer (in my personal opinion) because it’s just him & his band in a studio as opposed to performing outside with hundreds of people etc. Also, Ave Maria & Across Endless Dimensions (which has another insanely high note in it too!). Finally, thank you for reacting to his songs for the first time with us as I always love the reactor’s face when they hear his songs/notes for the first time 😊. Many thanks again until the next time 👋🏻

It’s a pleasure to listen to you and your analysis is informative. I definitely agree with you, all the vocal techniques Dimash uses at the service of interpretation create an emotional atmosphere. Even breathing becomes music. I really like listening to him, although I am interested in different types of music. 🎧🎶❤️

Wonderful reaction. Thank you so much. If you want to experience the most versatile song ever, Dimash's original composition as well, PLEASE react to the Story of one Sky. There is a brilliant music video as well as a breathtaking live performance, both on Dimash's KZbin channel. I guess you'll prefer the live performance. If so, choose Almaty Stranger Concert Part 3, from minute 25. I promise you'll never regret. This song is worth being sent to space in a time capsule to show aliens the outrageous ability of a human being in singing. I experienced this live in Antalya, Turkey. I cried rivers, torn between the depth of the lyrics and the unmatched beauty of the composition and the vocals. Best song EVER. Greetings from Germany 😊

I'm sorry but this video is full of misinformations. Ikanaide wasn't written by Koji Tamaki about Yoshiko Yamaguchi. The lyrics were written by Goro Matsui. It's just a love song. Autumn Strong, on the other side, is the same song, but the Chinese lyrics were written about her by Daryl Yao. The lyrics on this video has nothing to do with both versions. It's better to choose videos from Dimash's channel. Thank you.
