If you look up information on him .. I will tel you that he is all self-taught.. his mother abandoned him so he lived with his father at the post-toddler stage in jail until he was released .. he has a natural ear and just took it from there .. The Power of Love is one of the songs that will show you his true range .. he is an absolute gif to mankind

From childhood to his teens he was a street person. He never had a voice teacher. He is a successful and celebrated singer in the Philipines. Several years ago he had appearances on America's Got Talent. This video on the 107.5 bus was from about 7 years ago.

He is not a professional singer, he is self taught. Orphaned at the age of 7 and live on the streets. only starts singing in his teens while hearing it on radio and sometimes karaoke. He had a very hard childhood.

I was in the Philippines back in 77'. All the bands playing the night clubs not only played covers but, liked to imitate voices. We heard the entire Boston album which had just come out & this band sounded exactly like Boston. Also Journey found Arnel in the Philippines from a video as he sounded remarkably like Steve Perry.

Glad you back reacting. Pomoy for me is a massive talent, who didn't had to many opportunities to shine. Years later he tried even the US career, talent show. But in my opinion there are critically low amount of songs, performances by him. Underrated talent. Marcelito is exceptional and he has no formal training. I could say a lot but I am that good in English. There are several things that is difficult for him. He is sitting down and sing a duet with aprox 5 octaves difference in languages that ain't native to him and, as you know, switches fast in between them. His wife, Joan, is teaching him english. He does understand english by now, but not speaking it well yet. I love him as a singer Try find the video called Remote. He changes so fast between male and female

I recommend you a Spanish singer her name is Diana Navarro with the song "El perdón" she is a singer that transmits a lot when she sings and has incredible melismas. She is also very versatile when it comes to singing. She sings different musical styles. Best regards

That was sung live.... in a bus.... that is a radio station at the same time. no prank, that was real, in realtime... oh and that type of singing is called "Doble Kara" in the Philippines.. Spanish for two face... in singing its two voice, generally for songs that are duets... Oh there are many singers here in the Philippines that can sing Doble Kara, but Marcelito is the best of the best Doble Kara singers. Actually Marcelito has a vocal coach, his wife.... 😁
