@@suprnatrulcat It's doing two things at once being difficult rather than just focusing on one. It's easier to juggle than it is to juggle while riding a unicycle. In other words, doing two things is more difficult than doing one thing- that's what Daniel DeSouza is trying to say. Also, don't believe so heavily in this "natural talent" bullshit. More often than not, people that truly love something will "learn" it faster because they put in the time and effort in that thing. Yes, there are those rare cases where people can instantly play whatever they hear/see, but they are simply wired differently and that's not what we're referencing.

Marc Martel is a beast :) Actually, when Rami Malek said he sang to all the songs he meant he didn't mime the songs but sang along, not that it was his actual voice in the movie. They apparently didnt want to spoil Ramis Oscar chances. Eventually an article was written in rolling stone about Marc but it was a sidenote that never really caught on. Then Marc did this video around that same time when the gag was lifted and as you see it has millions of views. He told me he didn't care about not being a part of the Oscar party. He was just super thankful to do what he did. Very nice guy. You should see the fans argue on Queen sites about Lambert and Martel lol. I'm a Martel guy all day. Thanks for the video dude!

The NDA is still in effect. He gets around it by not disagreeing with interviewers who say his voice was in most or all of thesongs. He just smiles and looks around, innocently. His singing is flawless, and definitely stronger in the high register that is so much needed for the Queen catalogue, plus he has all the other characteristics that is needed to front the band: showmanship and command of the stage, chemistry and friendship with the band members, sense of humour and light and camp personality that fits Queen's style.

I saw Marc with his band Ultimate Queen Celebration live and recordings and videos do NOT do this guy justice. His show was just over 2 hours with only a small break for him while he changed outfits and while his guitarist played a solo. Then Marc was back on stage, sounding amazing and wowing the audience with his singing and story-telling. None of the other band members spoke. I was all him putting on the show. He owned that audience right from the start. Marc has it all, charisma good looks, stage presence and an amazing voice. People who say he is lacking stage presence obviously have never seen him live. AND he sells out everywhere he performs. In Germany this month, people who left his concert immediately bought a ticket to next year's show, that's how much people love him.

OK Late to comment on this one, but I saw Marc live in South Florida in Dec '22. He did the Queen tribute set and was amazing. He's a much different singer to my ear than Freddie was. Live, Marc's smooth voice pierces through in the mix and he has that perfect vibrato. Marc goes all in on the big notes and hits the ones that Freddie was known to duck live. He has a spectacular instrument for sure. Freddy, is so very unique with what I perceive as a fast asymetruc vibrato with a bit more attack than Marc. One last impression: Marc brought in a large group of curious youtube watchers that night and left with legitimate fans of his talent. He's that good.

11:09 I saw an interview where Malik said that he had to sing everything so that it doesn't look fake on the film and then the producers will decide if they put the voice of Freddie, Martel, Malik or a mix of all of them. So that's why he said he had to sing everything. In the beginning the producers did not mention Marc Martel, but Malik revealed Marc's name in one of his first interviews saying "there was also a singer with an incredible voice called Marc Martel who helped us with the voice of Freddie". I think he was misunderstood on the radio.

He's so talented and young. This is just a glimpse of what he's likely to deliver over the course of his lifetime. *okay, he's in his 40's but clearly he 1000% takes care of his instrument*

Remember, most of those high notes in the opera section,were NOT Freddie - it was Roger!

Wow... Marc is amazing. If we didn't have video evidence i would of swore that was Freddie for real. Beautiful. And great video and breakdown

Marc deserves more recognition for what he has done to present Freddie's work to a new generation.
@michaelhodges64935 жыл бұрын
@@kentamplin i agree completely. Freddie was an insanely talented singer with a vocal range that would stun the new generation. Marc is just the guy to do the job for sure. He deserves recognition for sure.

Best review so far on Marc Martel singing Bohemian Rhapsody. Awesome how you actually give feedback and tell what muscles are used! Great review!

Marc did all of the vocals in the film where they couldn't get an isolated track or something new or was ad libbed. Why he didn't get credit is a mystery. Its as if Queen don't want people to know about him at all. they Picked their man and are sticking to it. He's just too damned close. maybe thats why.

Marc is phenomenal (but he did start out in gospel… say no more). I’ve seen him and his band live. Brilliant show. A last note…I’ve seen Adam performing with Queen, and it was great as he has the flamboyance of Freddie and is an amazing vocalist and artist in his own right, BUT, geez I’d live to see Marc performing with Queen….just imagine. Marc also has facial similarities to Freddie.

The thing is, Marc IS an artist "in his own right" (not well-known, as his band had their own unique niche - not mainstream), a singer-songwriter, unlike Adam (Adam hires top of the line writers/producers like Max Martin to create his music), but he deliberately chooses to honour Freddie's stylistic choices, as he performs as a tribute, not as a "cover band". That is what he does right now, a tribute show, and that is what people buy tickets for. He is fully capable of making the music entirely his own, but he reserves it for his own music and non-Queen, like Christmas classics. Hint: check out his Queen covers album. Waiting for the day Marc tours more with his own music. I prefer his original music over his Queen stuff.

Hey Ken, this is my favorite reaction video of yours! I really appreciate how you broke down all the Freddie nuances that Marc was nailing and I'm imagining you could do a pretty decent cover yourself if you wanted! Also, props to Marc for doing all the vocal parts in one live take, something Freddy himself never attempted as far as I'm aware! Stupendous vocal performance by Marc Martel!

Don't worry. They made money off of hi. In their official cover band for 5 years. They made money off of him in the Bohemian Rhapsody movie. They still make money off his audition video. They just don't want to fade into the background at this stage in their careers, and there is no fear of being outshown by Lambert.
