對我們來說沒有任何一集是浪費的，因為我們很享受每一集真實有趣和隨機的錄製。這裡不是什麼高大上的樂評節目，只是幾個音樂人不定期聚在一起各抒己見。牛扒和泡麵我們都愛吃，看心情！但再好吃的東西天天吃也會膩。 我懂一部分觀眾反饋的意思。“這種組合唱的又不好有啥好評的“對吧。可惜世界上不可能有那麼多JJ和周深。好歌手和差歌手之間差距究竟有多大？偶像行業的標準究竟是什麼？華語樂壇的偶像難道真的實力就不如日韓和歐美？韓式的偶像訓練體系真的好嗎？人道嗎？要不要聊一聊我們彼此所接觸到的業界潛規則？關係和背景是否比實力更重要？每一集討論內容有深度還是沒深度，都是隨機和不可控的。有時會從一個話題跳到另一個話題。飛輪海那集裡Flo建議給她看看F4，我們的確就這麼做了，就是那麼隨機。那就是為什麼我們庫存裡還有一百多集沒發出來。那就是為什麼我們的剪片和字幕工作趕不上點評的進度。每一次的討論多多少少都有新的發現和理解，也會影響未來的看法。如果說要我們精挑細選“受大部分人歡迎”的影片，那的確節省很多人力物力，但有違我們做真實反應的初衷。 所以不管選題好壞，只要拍了我們便會不顧成本儘量一視同仁把每一集都分享出來。選題的“好與壞”大家肯定各有所愛，建議遇到不感興趣的影片不要點開看就行了。可以確定的是您喜歡或不喜歡的那些選題和選歌遲早都會在這個頻道出現。

​​@@Nux75 公道說，Mirror他們沒一個能唱啦😂 相反下一集會評到的MC張天賦是僅有的經哪一個全民造星節目出來，又真正有合格的演唱能力的哪一位。 而下一集也會評到的Jay Fung也是一位可以歸立經選秀節目出道的能唱能創作的歌手。 Mirror只是一個純偶像組合而已，他們所謂能唱的哪幾個成員每每到現場演唱都一塌糊塗。身為香港人的我也厭倦了不停說他們很努力的藉口，是，他們很努力，但只是很努力地賺錢，而不是努力地鍛煉好一個歌手藝人的基本能力。

While I'm not particularly fond of this band, I believe one reason people become fans and resonate with them is because they watched their entire journey on the talent show, witnessing their formation as a group, which somehow builds an emotional connection. Unlike other groups, each member also do solo and other projects individually, so it's like there's something for everybody. Personally, I'm not fond of their group work, but I think a few of them did pretty well solo.

但我聽過原曲之後，發現其實副歌係好幾個成員一齊用假音唱，而唔係話個別幾個，而我認識之中，團入邊都有人係上到高音，例如Jeremy，我反而喺度諗緊會唔會係producer覺得呢一段需要用假音，而喺錄音嘅時候要求佢哋用假音唱？ 我個人猜測咋，並沒有任何偏幫12位嘅意思，因為我都的確覺得12位仔仔需要聽多啲建議，去學唱歌改善吓

從專業聲樂老師角度點評，Mirror當然唔算好，但點解鍾意佢地呢？應該就係“觀眾緣”。 一位歌手唱得好好，唱功無可挑剔，但作為觀眾，唔會花錢花時間去睇佢演唱會。Mirror唱功跳舞都有好大進步空間，但有好多人願意課金入場睇，呢樣就係作為藝人的魅力吧

我是一名鏡粉，老師很好奇誰在Mirror當中唱功較好，Ian同jer兩位成員嘅唱功係好啲，另一個成員Jeremy出名表現穩定。無可否認，佢哋嘅live表演係未如理想，有進步嘅空間。 見到老師同助手講有關k pop嘅表演，但係想講K-pop入面啲音樂節目好多時都會有墊聲，並不是開全咪，亦都有片段係顯示出有唔少當紅韓國藝人嘅表演當去除墊聲之後係慘不忍睹。同時韓國藝人必須要經歷好多唔同嘅訓練先至有機會出道，相反Mirror喺比賽之後冇經歷過任何訓練就已經出道。同時間韓國嘅風氣，小朋友有細就開始學習唔同唱歌或者跳舞嘅興趣班；相反，香港嘅風氣問題，好多人喺成年之後先至有機會去接觸唱歌跳舞等等嘅興趣。或者可能呢個係一個藉口，但必須要承認佢哋出道左六年都有仍然有好多不足嘅地方，其中一個原因係公司比好少時間佢哋練習，甚至係喺第一次上舞台表演之前都未試過有一次係齊人嘅練習。 Mirror嘅賣點並唔係一個唱歌/跳舞/演藝其中一方面所有人都表現得十分出色嘅組合，但係唔同嘅成員喺呢三個方面上邊各有專長。 至於係我本人嘅角度，點解我會成為一個鏡粉嘅原因係因為我好喜歡佢哋12個之間嘅化學作用，同時間亦都見證住佢哋每一次嘅進步（雖然佢哋去到而家仲未成為一個出色嘅藝人）同時間我唔係一個對唱歌跳舞好有研究嘅人，我唔會聽得出一個歌手喺首歌入邊用咗乜嘢技巧，淨係識分好唔好聽。如果要問點解我鍾意佢哋嘅歌曲好大機會會係嗰首歌嘅意思，佢嘅曲風/歌詞/編舞，唱功唔係一個最首要嘅條件。

原來姓姜那位的背景是去到勵志層面，一個減肥的男性（全香港有一半女性都應該每一位都有至少一個勵志故事）。與人打籃球推撞人，他人倒在地，還用腳踩人心口，都算勵志。我想都要重新理解何為勵志。 另外假唱的播放錄播叫「墊低聲」，各式各樣的新專業用詞，大家都要好好學習

Mirror為甚麼會這麼紅，香港當時經歷了甚麼，又造就了甚麼，懂的都懂，坦白講佢地既出現救左唔少當時既香港某幾大行業經濟市場，無論你喜歡Mirror與否，他們都沒有做出過甚麼出格的事，更帶動了行業再邁向國際的步伐。 老師作為聲樂老師，用佢自身專業角度評論，他們的水準老師都有說明並點出問題去指教，老實說挺好的，有批評指教可以使人更進步。 但男生主持?(不清楚定位)有點說得不對，如果用你口中的k-pop偶像團體標準才是標準，那SuperJunior的神童為甚麼不提，SJ在k-pop的地位成績有目共睹，但他在你說話中就是疏於鍛鍊管理自己身材的偶像，這麼不嚴以律己還做偶像的人，但偏偏李秀滿代表選他出道時他就是胖子，這麼多年反覆減肥（有為身材有為健康）到現在仍然是胖子（比姜濤胖), 如果眼界只能狹窄的鎖在身材上，勸你對神童的粉絲道歉，喜歡神童的粉炒絕不只將眼光放在神童身材上去定議他是否能做偶像，神童就算身材肥胖跳舞都好靈活並且他口才很好風趣幽默，同理放在姜濤身上，喜歡他的人都有各自欣賞的點，所以不喜歡可以不看也不用特地去了解他為甚麼瘦不下來(他腳受傷手術後不能運動鍛鍊去保持身材窈窕），如果說沒這樣看待過神童，那就不要做口中說沒不喜歡但言語中暴露了的雙標行為。 女生主持(這片中除了老師其他人物該怎定角色：主持、導演、小編?),有點要補充，姜濤當初減肥有女同學拒絕的部份原因，但主要是姜媽鼓勵姜濤，說她當年後生係靚女，相信佢個仔姜濤有佢基因遺傳，減肥後會係靚仔，之後姜就開始努力減肥，但年紀小，用了不好的減肥方法，雖然減肥成功但入行後各種壓力、工作密度、身體狀態都令到他身材有所反彈，另一點他參加『全民造星』前已經參加過『快樂男聲2017』香港區，入到30強並見到了他的偶像小豬羅志祥，參加造星係因為造星沒有收取報名費😂（他當時是學生，想入行但沒途徑，只能找比賽參加，但參賽需要付報名費，學生財力有限，見到造星不需報名費便報名了）。

When commenting on Mirror and its members' singing abilities, Rozette always puts in great effort to find words that won't offend Mirror fans. I greatly admire her kindness and linguistic skills, haha! The questions she raises, such as "Who would like this group? What aspects of them do their fans actually appreciate? Are they good singers? Do they have impressive dance skills? Are they exceptionally good-looking?" truly reflect the sentiments of many Hong Kong/Cantonese music fans!

This is actually CantonPop since it is cantonese. They are from a boyband Mirror. Some are outstanding in singing and song writing such as Ian Chan, some are good at dancing such as Anson :)

I am only speaking for myself but for me as a Hong Konger and a person who loves cantopop, i will not say Mirror is the best group if we are talking about vocally or dance or even appearance,but they are literally the first group in Hong Kong who tries to do all these we call K-Pop stuff which is really the trend and international thing, as an audience,I really think as the first group in the industry you cannot request them to have the same quality as bts or other fabulous groups in the world that are really produced in a mature industry and years of training with industry standards.To be fair all 12 of them are just normal students/ workers before the audition show they joined,i agree that they are not good enough yet but for me i am just happy to see there’s finally someone in the industry are willing to connect with the international trend and try to bring some new atmosphere to the hong kong music industry because i think most listeners of cantopop would agree that our industry have not been growing or developing for years. I am just glad to see there is progress in the industry and the members in Mirror have been trying their best to meet the international standards,although there is still a long way to go. But if there is no mirror i think cantopop will still do the same genre of music over and over again and nothing new will happen.At least there are more groups and new artists coming out in Hong Kong. I am glad to see that as an audience and Hong Konger

Well said. If it’s not for Jer’s early hits, I would not have picked up Cantopop again a few years ago. And I’m also glad to see Cantopop start to have more variety in terms of genre and we have more talented young artists joining the business.

This band is not well known for vocals. They are famous as a group. Some of the members are good at singing, some of them are good at acting and dancing. We love their vibe and how they work hard to continually improve their performances. This is a live performance where they don't even have time to warm up their voices. They received an award and walked straight up to the stage and started singing immediately after a 30-second thank-you speech. They don't even provide with any ear-monitor. So it will be unfair to compare them with the current kpop industry.

@@Jeanhk929 其實每個地方嘅男團有自己風格，即使mirror 並非你標準，但佢係香港嘅男團，一隊未有受嚴格訓練嘅男團，所以被大家批佢哋三年就會玩完嘅男團，但結果疫情過後，佢哋更加受人注意，更多人喜歡，點解？因為大家睇到佢哋雖然要做好多唱歌表演以外嘅工作，但仍然憑住有限嘅時間增進唱功和舞蹈，所以支持呢班不一様年青人，佢哋冇受統一訓練，你要將佢和韓團做比較公平嗎？BTS隨咗嚴格挑選和訓練外，成團後全部成員要住埋一齊，keep住不停訓練，而香港嘅mirror 可以話係一班識執生嘅醒目仔，其實呢啲就係香港人嘅特質，有乜嘢醜？事實上做到韓國咁有系統係國策，香港有嗎？所以我哋咁珍惜香港有mirror ，想mirror 更進步更好，佢哋唔介意被批評，呢啲態度我哋睇到，更加想佢有出色，但唔會吹毛求疵要佢哋似邊個，明白呢啲係香港一方水土，事實上相比出道至今，歌藝和舞蹈進步不少，既然佢哋冇散冇放棄，我哋亦冇理由放棄，我都希望公司用多啲時間栽培呢12子，等我哋香港有一隊廣東歌嘅組合，如果隻眼只識望住外面自己會好嗎？香港人撐香港組合有問題嗎？想香港好比啲供獻啦！踩人唔會有進步嘅！mirror 加油！

I'm an American fan of Mirror. I can understand that people may dislike them because of differing opinions, and even I can say that they still have quite a bit of improvement to achieve, but that doesn't mean they don't have any sort of talent. Otherwise, they obviously wouldn't have been able to go on a world tour and get onto two different television networks in the UNITED STATES. The members obviously excel in different things, but that's what makes them special and sets them apart from the rest of the bands. As another comment said, us fans love them not just for their performances but for their personalities and silliness. They bring us joy when we're sad, and nobody can or should fault us for that. Also, to the vocal coach: Is it really necessary to continue and try to react to things/people that you don't even like? It's a waste of time for everyone. And I suppose this applies to everyone too: why pay attention to things that you don't like? Just scroll and ignore it. How difficult is that, honestly. Additionally, there are a lot of people who say that Mirror became popular because of political reasons, but once again, I'm an American fan who has no idea of any of the politics happening or anything that Mirror has to do with it; I just really love their music and their personalities. Also, I'm someone who's not middle aged OR a woman, so it's a bit frustrating to me when people are surprised that i like Mirror. This is why I hate when people generalize Mirror fans. I know so many people who don't fit into this "stereotype", if you will, of Mirror fans that love and enjoy their content. P.S. It's funny to me that people think they can sing the way some of the members can, and the same goes for dancing. This group came from a well produced and popular first season of a pop idol contest called Kingmaker and also got popular in a time when Hong Kong was going through a lot of problems in 2019. People wanted to maintain their HK identity, so they started supporting HK entertainment, and this group in particular. I agree this group lacks talent and needs to improve a lot, but this group has a lot of significance in helping the HK entertainment/singing industry to get back on its feet, as now other Hong Kongers support different HK artists now, which was dead for years, when they went to follow other countries’ pop music industry. I like Ian out of everyone in the group, as he is the one of the best singers and also a good songwriter. Future seasons of Kingmaker also produced some really good talents, including MC and 曾比得， one which is known as the best singer in HK right now, and another doing really well in mainland Chinese reality tv shows. In the end, Mirror is a cultural symbolism in which Hong Kong people want to keep their HK identity, and are not able to express freely these days through speech, so they do it through supporting their local Hong Kong artists.

@@stephenlam7677 “Not perfect” is very kind. Having an incompetent group represent HK will not help the industry thrive. There are great singers in HK, people just don’t care for them. Which is exactly what can be expected considering even back then HK had to rely on songs from Japan to get its success. Almost every “classic stuff” HK offered back then, are Cantonese covers of Japanese songs by skilled vocalists. Every “new thing” HK has to offer now, not only were they poorly done, had been done by other countries at a much higher quality decades ago. Mirror is merely one of the examples. They can’t dance in sync, most of them can’t sing, the best singers, the two “Jers” were mediocre at best. But then again, in this industry, I suppose notoriety can be seen as something “good”, better than indifference I guess. There are people who are willing to pay for circus performances after all.

In response to the vocal coach’s question, fans like Mirror because they are "genuine." Fans prefer their personality traits over anything external like appearance, voice, or dance. When you genuinely like someone, you tend to magnify their strengths and overlook their flaws. That's probably the gist of it ❤️ Unlike K-pop trainees who spend years in rigorous training before debuting, they were just ordinary people a few years ago, doing ordinary things. But who could have guessed they would tour Europe, North America, and Asia a few years later? Mirror has proven through their actions that with dreams and hard work, anything is possible. This is the message and spirit they represent. Furthermore, they have never tried to copy or imitate K-pop artists. During competitions, some members were often asked by producers and managers to stop imitating Korean artists because it would diminish their individuality. The competition organizers also made it clear they were looking for potential artists with a Hong Kong identity. Yes, Mirror still has a lot of room for improvement in terms of vocals and artistry, that's undeniable. In fact, they are constantly striving to learn and improve. Many members only get 3 or 4 hours of sleep a day while dealing with a huge workload (commercials, movies, TV dramas, stage plays, directing, songwriting, attending events, singing, dancing, variety shows, and even world tours), which shows the immense physical and mental demands they face. They also have many slow songs, so those interested can give them a listen. I hope that the CZ Media team will continue to review more Cantonese songs in the future, including solo and group singers. Here're some of my personal favourite recommendations. They can get awarded doesn’t mean most of the Hong Kong people like them lol. The tricky point is their supporters joined the member of the awarding organisation to vote them. To me or some of the Hong Kong people have given up those voting because of this “extraordinary” boys band. That’s true others in comments saying that their success by the power of marketing and enormous exposure in Hong Kong media. This is sad that Hong Kong music is in a recession and it might be put into the tragedy of majority.

Thanks for the comments, but I don’t think it’s fair to judge them by only one live footage, and to compare them with k-pop groups. They have rooms for improvement, but their efforts and visions worth recognition. Keung To’s solos brought a lot of comfort to Hkers and brought a lot of dimensions to Canton-pop. He may not be the best singer but his songs touch my heart and make me cry. That’s why he has so many fans. Of course there are lots of haters, but you won’t change my fond of him.

As an American fan of Jeremy Lee, Anson Lo, Edan Lui, and just Mirror as a whole, I can agree that their songs are very touching and not only make me cry, but they also make me happy. I'm also glad that I'm not the only one who thinks it's ridiculous that she only judges based on live performances, and the ones that she has chosen are, in my opinion, some of the worst ones to listen to, especially as a non-fan. Like when she reacted to Rumours from the First Take and she cringed when Anson sang "I'll never let you go~". In order for her to understand why he sang it like that, she needs to listen to the original song, where they AUTOTUNED it on purpose for the effects of the song. Not having context and not listening to the actual song previously makes it unfair to criticize, as you don't actually know what you're judging.

The HK loves them coz they are the closest package clone from the K-pop coz the HK loves Kpop too. So far dare I say that this is the only boy band that represent HK with some Kpop vibes for their locals to crave on the dancing choreograph + singing. Most other HK singers are more focus on standup melodrama singing only.

There are indeed a few individuals having fair singing/ vocals. For example Ian Chan has a great vocal, in the show music panda he collaborated with another Hong Kong singer Hins Cheung which is worthwhile to watch

They are popular because of political reasons, in this hk era. They gained popularity because the show that made them as idols, is a channel, viutv, that is anti china. Which many young hk ppl are aligned with that free themselves from china concept. And hence they want a hk band that represents hk ppl, which the other channel tvb is very well merged with Chinese production. So, they wanna source local hkers to put a band together asap, very limited training. And honestly hkers are not very rigorous in training as jkai said, most of their stuff is sloppy. Their golden age has windled, but because of their pride makes them think their are great. So actually this band is a "mirror"of their society, and fanbase is a mirror of how blinded they are, or better yet they know they are not good, but just support and love them for an idealogy.

It is embarrassing and awkward for me, as a Hong Kong native who loves Hong Kong culture, that Rozette might mistakenly believe that Hong Kong people only like Mirror or assume that Mirror represents the quality of Hong Kong/Cantonese singers. I feel that I need to apologize to the teacher and the CZ Media team for the time and effort spent on researching and editing videos about Mirror. This boy group, Mirror, has been in the Hong Kong music industry for six years, yet they lack talent in terms of singing, dancing, and acting (except for the leader Lokman who had film works and was considered a highly anticipated new Hong Kong actor even before joining the competition and Mirror). The boy group can be considered as one of the most inexplicably popular groups in Hong Kong in recent years. Even if Mirror stands still without dancing, they may not sing well, and many ordinary people in Hong Kong could have sang better. However, they have a huge fan base, and we Hong Kongers generally cannot comprehend this.

This live version is from an awards ceremony so all the performer do not have ears mon on stage. I totally agreed they still have many room to improve, but this version is not fair to them. I remember some other performer on the same awards ceremony was not perform as good as other live show. For those performer with less live performance experience, they are hard to handle this no ears mon case. I am not a fans of any one of them but to be fair to the case.
