Nina I agree, her voice is like butter on the piano already. All the other instruments sort of squash the beauty! I know it is a lot of pressure with most artists using that many instruments, I just hope she is able to stay original to her style, not yield to pressure & be somebody else- in her own words. @@ninaschofield go listen to the album it’s about how she felt like she failed as a mom however she had to destroyed herself and her sons life to find herself and who Adele truly is, so she could be a better mom to her son and a better version of herself.

She wrote this song at a time that her and her good friend, James Corden, were going through some things. She explains it in his last Carpool Karaoke she was a part of. It makes the song all that more powerful.

Exactly, people keep saying why didn’t she just do a stripped back acoustic show in Vegas. Like that’s not the point. It’s not fair on fans who payed 600 dollars a ticket to get a half assed show, Adele wants to give them their money’s worth, they keep belittling her when she hasn’t even spoken about the situation yet, all the stories in the media about why she cancelled the show are completely false. They just want to make her look like a bad person it’s disgusting what they’re doing to tarnish that woman’s name. She already promised fans she’ll be rescheduling the shows so idk why ppl keep trying to drag her over it….

@@tanyax524 it’s just the fact she literally announced it the day before it was due to start. And yes she can reschedule but that doesn’t help the 1000s of pounds people spent of flights and accommodations. I don’t think we should attack her, but it was very late notice, she definitely knew it wasn’t going to work before that.

@Neamhdhlisteanach Yes i get that but It was confirmed that Adele actually wanted to cancel the show a couple weeks prior. Due to the delays of equipment but Caesar’s palace told her to hold out until last minute, now she’s facing all the backlash from it unfortunately, there was warnings posted that the show could be cancelled at any time due to Covid reasons, so the people who decided to travel from other countries during a pandemic did so at their own PERIL nobody should be taking such risks whilst Covid is still around, there’s been many artists recently cancelling shows due to Covid not just adele…. When Celine Dion did her Vegas residency she’d sometimes cancel whilst fans was already seated that’s even worse imo

Point taken and a very sobering reminder - the pressure Whitney Houston felt to be Whitney at 25 at 45 was fatally devastating. Ironically even at 45 she was better than most vocalist out there. Let's be happy that Adele gives us whatever she does, because what she does is better than almost everything else.

The breath at the end of the song is actually intentional during the live performances I've noticed. I think this song is like a confession to herself and so this breath signifies the burden that has been lifted off her shoulders. I find it a very nice a bit theatrical touch

Folks that love Adele do so because of her amazing vocal and writing talents that lay bare her heart and soul. The flash and glamour of the show itself can never equal her brilliance. Those that understand her unwillingness to present a sub-par show hold no harsh or hurtful attitude or judgment to postpone her shows until her brand has healed from the pandemic. Can’t wait until once again Adele bares her heart and soul with us.

She cancelled a few dates from her Vegas tour because some of her staff got covid, she said that she’s truly sorry and will reschedule the dates. There’s a very emotional video she posted explaining everything.

Exactly, people were able to get full refunds if they didn’t want to wait. I think she is going to announce the rescheduling this Friday when she goes on her first talk show of this era

Yeah it wasn’t just Covid either she also cancelled due to staging and equipment delays…. After watching this a few times on my own and with the reaction videos I get a bit of angst from the performance. I feel a bit of a tiredness in it (not physically tired but rather tired in the way the song lyrics describe), more so than in the studio recording. The unfiltered attitude in the performance kinda makes it feel like I'm sitting in her living room having some tea while she's telling me just how sick she is of having to battle with her own self, and that's on top of what the lyrics of the song already offer in their own right. I love it

Yeeep... That's a good point! I mean... We all expected her to sing "Oh My God" because it's something different than what we've heard... But... At the end of the day, this is also the Adele I love! So yeah... She better stays in the place where she feels more comfortable so we can continue to appreciating her.

I'm a huge Adele fan and I do think the media is being too harsh on her, there's a new rumour about something Vegas related like very day, and she's painted in a really bad light. I do think she should've cancelled earlier - before people started to travel in, or at least there should be more information about it because now it's super unclear. Still love her though!

Hello Nina: Not only does Adele technical and performance above and beyond in the musical industry, but her music also invites her audience into a serenity stage of being. I am guessing she missed her early performing time when she was not being approached from every where as we hear it at the end of her song. But like every other great singer that time passed and she had to move on.

Of course it didn’t change how I feel about her. Knowing her and following her carrier for over 12 years I KNOW that if she cancelled, there’s is a good fucking reason and I know she absolutely hates doing that, she avoids doing that at all costs, however, she didn’t have time, she didn’t have enough people, she didn’t have equipment, she tried until the day before to make it happen so she wouldn’t have to cancel. ( especially now, with all that is happening, people should be twice as understanding) People should be proud of an artist that actually cares about her fans and about there money and wants to make a show worth experiencing. She is THE biggest artist of today and if she thinks it was not good enough, well, it wasn’t. Those who know her, understands.

@@ninaschofield please no worries, I didn't feel offended at all. I was just expecting a reaction video but that question was at the very beginning of the video so I was surprised. But in the end, I did enjoy your reactions. Well-done! Although I'm a huge Adele fan, I really feel sorry for the audience who already went to Vegas. I do think Adele's announcement was late but at the same time, I think that's the best choice given the situation. It's obvious that Adele feels so so sorry and embarrassed about that, so we should move on, give her some sympathy, and wait for the reschedule. I don't think Adele could do the whole show with just a piano given that many of her songs aren't just piano but many instruments, and the show, of course, needs a big technical team. And I'd hoped that you - a professional - should have agreed with that. It's not that easy as a lot of people have said: just Adele and a piano are enough for a Vegas show.

Agree. Just the voice & piano is superb. I know I'm entering sensitive territory here - but I do wonder about Why the Residency? I don't know her business but I would have thought she needed neither the publicity nor the income. Maybe she's negotiated something that isn't too onerous, but to me that's enormous pressure to pump out performances on 'an industrial scale' - potentially at risk to her voice? NOTHING should put this voice in jeopardy!!! But also the mental / emotional toll of such residencies is well known and Adele has somewhat of - her own acknowledged - history of burning herself out and having to withdraw to 'recharge'. That lyric; something... 'wanting to please people she doesn't even know' , might ring alarm bells. All of us make commitments from time to time that we later might view through a different 'lens' and decide that's not going to work for us. It's harder for someone with a public profile to acknowledge if they find themselves in such a situation and pivot away to something else. Harder but not impossible. You're never going to 'please all the pixies all the time'! ☺

I don’t understand what the issue is. The show isn’t ready and with all the COVID stuff I’m sure it’s difficult to put together a show like that rn. It might be annoying if you already made plans and stuff but she was very clear about the reasons why the shows are cancelled. I still love Adel's voice but her personal stuff seems to be getting into the way of her business obligations. I know she has serious anxiety about performing and maybe she just was looking for a way out of the whole Vegas residency. I feel sorry for the fans that paid thousands for tickets and travel arrangements only to get left holding the bag. Adele could have just sat on stage with a bench and they would have been happy
