You look around and watch all the suffering and while you search for someone or something to blame, you end up in front of a mirror. Everything you touch, you break. Everyone you try to save you hurt and push further away. It is a sad reality of being alive, the fact that the closer you get, the more pain you risk inflicting. You try to stay in the light, spread your wings and aim for the sun. But your eyes and hands are covered in blood and you hit the ground, dragging everything that matters with you. The riff is pretty cool too." Johannes is 6"4' guy, of course he have a big mouth 😜 And he drink out of petrol canister because he's FIRE! 🔥🔥🔥 I recommend Regret/House of Eternal Hunt (Age of Illusions live), Scream Until You Wake, King's Harvest, New Land, Black Waters, Get in Live (Alcatraz live).

One of my favourite songs by them is "Tower". It's a song about a toxic relationship from the toxic person's point of view. It's is so haunting and creepy, and you here a lot more of Johannes's clean singing. Also, I'm still waiting for a reaction to JP Leppäluoto. 😉 You really liked his voice in that Northern Kings reaction you did a few years ago, so I think you'd still like it.

so you asked for more avatar recommendations: I would strongly recommend "Regret / House of Eternal Hunt", this live version: kzbin.info/www/bejne/m2msla2Eo9yml6M I think it shows his abilities so, so well! and the diversity of the band in general. other recommendations: torn apart (kzbin.info/www/bejne/gIicaI2ae7BgkKs) , it's an older song and underrated imo dance devil dance (kzbin.info/www/bejne/q4iTkH2GlJlgbc0) a more recent release the accoustic version of "black water" and "the eagle has landed" . video also contains an interview but there are time stamps to the songs in the video description. AND -they are wearing hawaiian shirts so it's def an interesting take on the band (kzbin.info/www/bejne/oWOqgHqjrc-jebs)

only three minutes into your reaction but I'm already soooooo excited!!! Avatar is one of my alltime favourite bands and it's an absolutely pleasure to see them live! So glad you found them, they definitely deserve more attention :) Two other bands I would love to hear your thoughts on, maybe one day, would be: Alcest (song e.g. "Améthyste" or "les jardins de minuit") and Fixation (song "stay awake") Happy Halloween and greetings from Germany :)

I totally understand the Devin Townsend comparison. Their earlier work has more of that vocal style going on. I recommend checking out "Reload" from their self titled album for more of that.

Devon Townsend actually opened for them years ago, and rode on the tour bus with them since he was a one man show. Avatar are an incredible live band. Check out statue of king and dirt I’m buried to hear more of Johannes great vocals

I do think you should check out a song from earlier in their career. Hail the apocalypse live at wacken. Think it's 2015. Small stage. Only growling (not a fan of growling) but it is fucking awsome!
