Thank you for your reaction, actually Morissetter is supposed to only perform 3 nights, that video was the first night, but after that performance the people were complaining that they wished they has Morissette sing the entire bodyguard medley, and I think if im not mistaken sue to public demand Morissette ended up doing 6 nights instead of 3 night, the people just want her to sing all bodyguard medley and never enough, all because of that first night.

@@chattcedric6321 No doubt there's many great Filipino singers " morrissett amon " " katrina valarda " and my own favourite Filipino singer " gigi de lana." the list is long .but there's also many non Filipino singers who are great singers/ artists who have performed covers brilliantly . David foster was asked " what does it take for a Filipino artist to make it big once again on the world stage " he replied " they have to be unique, you can't copy you have to be original . Filipinos are very good at copying, it's very difficult to be unique but it will happen trust me " . ( by original I believe he means successful original songs and having your own individual direction / identity/ being a unique artist not just a unique singer who performs covers .)

Morissette is a great singer but what is her direction and style is she a musical theatre performer or a pop star or content to perform diva songs . Its not about talent. Its the IT factor. There are plenty of stars that are not great singers. I mean they can sing but do not have the range or dynamics of Mori. Its just that the greater volume of crowd/people of the world connect with their songs/music/charm more. Mori need someone powerful to push her to the limelight. David Foster maybe?

Because they have studied the anatomic and physics of singing, they are instant experts of the field. Look at the number of vocal coaches and instructors scattered online and everywhere. People now think having an awesome expensive Microphone, a laptop and some tutorials over some audio softwares, they can be Singing Superstars. Most of those Fabricated Superstars out there can only just croon and can only wishfully wished to have Ms. Mori's IT FACTOR; think they're DIVAS/singers/vocalists; without the MIC and the support crew, its all mediocrity. All of this stupidity was firstly concieved & achieved by the giant US and Japan Media conglomerates and just recently this past decades practiced by the Koreans. Look at how the world worships Kpop 😅. The world has embraced LIVE! autotuned Performances saying it was awesome singing. The world has been mesmerized by the metallic sounding, no emotional value, heavily-corrected studio releases. The world has loved and accepted mediocre and technologically-laden vocal performances as the new standards. The world has forgotten what is genuine singing. The world no longer knows what Ancient Singing is. It is a lost art. And it has been archived. That's why supertalented artists like Ms. Mori no longer matters. People's worldviews toward Singing has become IDIOTIC. Well, that's just my 10 cents. 😅😅😅

I am not knowledgeable in the technicalities that makes a quality vocal performance, neither do I have the keen eye and ear for the flaws of any particular singer's vocals. However, I paid attention to what you said about Katherine McPhee's performance and admired your candid comments about her. The comparison with charice that some people are making is just absurd. IDK, maybe they’re just being sentimental but, nope, Morissette is out of her league. Wow - a voice coach reactor who is actually willing to tell it like it is, comparing Katherine Mcphee to Morissette. You're spot on - it must have been so difficult for McPhee to know she is standing next to an obviously superior singer. And you're right - it is a travesty that Morissette isn't internationally recognized as a superstar. Hopefully, David Foster can help correct that. In my 76 years, I haven't heard a better singer.

Katherine McPhee was the runner-up in the fifth season of American Idol in 2006. She's also an actress. I always thought she had a rather small and thin voice, and was just okay, but she's actually gotten better recently. I don't know if this is the reason, but she is like 5'10" tall, and a lot of taller women. unless they are models, tend to slouch or hunch over a little so as not to use seem too tall. She's taller than David, and bigger too. If you notice when she standing next to David or when she was standing next to Ryan Seacrest on American Idol, she was not only a good deal taller but her bare shoulders are wider than both those men with their jackets on.

since its inevitable to compare charice and morissette i think, charice had clean high belting notes but that doesnt mean morissette cannot do that maybe she just chose not to belt the way charice did but undeniably morissette has a wider range wc means she can if she wanted to. but i love her low register, solid and SOULFUL. but i think mori was too excited or too happy having DF on the same stage that made her performance a little bit more. i love her when she is just focusing on the story and interpret it with due emotions. thats what i notice of her,whenever she has some collab or duet w other singers, she somehow gets carried away. remember her duet w julia san jose, everybody expected her to swamp julia for we all know she mastered the song but for a certain reason, many thought julia did better.. i think they both did well. maybe she just get those GIGIL, over the top, competitive, excited feeling. but i love her voice really.

There's a lot more to singing than just belting. Morissette's vocals here were beautiful - so well-placed, utilizing the different registrations of her voice and moving between them seamlessly, all wrapped up in her trademark resonant, rich sound. As much as I respect Jake and his legacy, imo Morissette is the more polished, elegant singer. Her technique is better, and I prefer her belting as well. Also, learning how to duet with someone is something all young singers learn with time and experience. When you have such a stellar instrument like Morissette, it can take some time to figure out how to sing without accidentally overshadowing your partner. And imo she has mastered that now. Just check out her more recent duets with Regine and Gigi.

There wasn't Morissette when Charice came. I dunno, I was in my 20s when Whitney came and was seeing her and followed her for a while just like the Mariah Careys and the Celine Dions..great divas. None of the is worth flying into to see them for me until this Morissette came along. Seen them, and this is just my opinion: I have never seen anybody sing live than Morissette. She's multi dimensional, has a lot of weaponry in her arsenal. Again, just my opinion.

I also followed them 3divas and was lucky enough to see them all in the late nineties in concert.Whitney was kinda sick but u could still hear that voice when she hit some of the notes.Mariah I was very underwhelmed and disappointed.It seemed like she rather care bout her ensemble and she wasn't hitting dem notes.Celine was unbelievable live man,to this day I have never seen in person a better singer imo.Now this June I will finally get to see Morissette who imo is the greatest in the game today.

this applies to so many philippino singers. 4 sisters named 4th Impact ( also from philippines) have been totally ignored by the western music industry . When they auditioned for X Factor UK in 2015 ( video has more than 188 million views) they were considered by many to be the best act to ever appear on X Factor Uk ---- even Simon Cowell said " probably the best audition he had ever seen ". If you like harmonies then 4th Impact will leave you speechless.

Tania, hollyweird is Satan’s domain where their “stars” worship him in return for stardom. Those international stars are bred from the start. None of them were “discovered.” And that is why Mori isn’t in hollyweird & therefore not a worldwide household name. I have tremendous admiration for Mori, but the day she decides to sign a deal with the devil is the day that stops. I’m counting on the fact (or belief) that she’s not one of which is why she hasn’t attained-nor will she ever attain-international stardom. She is admired and loved in the Philippines-& outside the PH via YT. And as a true fan, I am more than happy with that.
