The ending clip of Jimin is from a Memories/Behind DVD, I think, and was taken while they were setting up to record a TV performance. The audio is his input from the mic he had on when he was kinda wandering around singing during the break.

Jin has a very stable voice; I'm so glad you mentioned it. I sometimes feel that people don't realize how he provides underpinning for the colorful layers of the group particularly when they are live. He's a rock. Also, he rocks😂

The interesting thing about Jimin is he never had a vocal coach until he started working on his recent solo albums Face and Muse. During the MiniMoni interview where Jimin and Namjoon talked about their latest albums, Jimin mentioned he finally worked with a vocal coach and he had to relearn to sing. He said the way he was singing he was actually hurting his vocal cords. During his Muse album you can really hear the difference. He already had a beautiful voice, but now it is next level. During his interview with Namjoon, Jimin mentioned he can’t sing the old songs the same. I think his new vocals will enhance the old songs. To me it’s no different than V’s voice getting deeper as he got older. Go listen to one of their early songs as teenagers then listen to them singing the same song years later. V’s vocals improved, became more mature (deeper). Now Jimin vocals sound more mature but just as beautiful. His Who live practice performance where he sings live (no additional sounds added to his vocals) you can hear the change. I recommend listening to his Muse album. 😊

Jk has said he prefers to watch videos on techniques and self teach versus formal training bc he doesn’t want to lose his color. So he is always practicing. Thats why so many videos avail of him singing bc he is always singing. And yes that was JK singing when u asked who it was ❤

Did find it interesting. The lady coaching V at the beginning is Iris Stephenson, they met when th boys went to US in 2014 for a show called American Hustle Life. She was very taken with V's voice and encouraged him to develop it, I think they only met for that day, not really his coach.

While I am so blown away by JK's vocals and I love the honey velvet voice of V, Jimin's voice can move me to tears. I don't know what it is, but you mentioned the purity and I love the timbre as well. I hate the fact that he used to want to be more like JK and constantly compared himself to him, his confidence in his own talents and abilities was so low. But Suga kept telling him that his voice was his favorite and told him how unique and special it was. He really encouraged him to put himself out there and work hard practicing and today he seems to have found his stride and and has taken many lessons to help make the best of it. This man is so sweet, caring, determined and the best dancer, martial artist and loveliest singer. He complements the other 6 perfectly.

I am going to admit that I used to think Jin was very good but not an exciting singer. Then I attended the Busan concert. I feel his voice is made for large venues, and so that's where he sounds his best. It's really difficult to fully appreciate it just from videos or recorded music.

All the ones you asked Who was it, were Jung Kook. The lady on the piano, Miss Iris, was training V and Jung Kook during a show called American Hustle Life, back in their early days. J-Hope learned more about beat boxing, thus him doing that while JK sang in that one clip. All the guys were paired up with different things they had to do/learn.

Well I certainly have never seen any of your videos but I was pleasantly surprised! Thank you for doing this reaction. V has a voice that just totally blows me away. I love his voice. Actually if you haven't already I would really like to see you do a reaction on V "Stigma" live and the reason I say live is because his voice sounds even better in the live version in concert. You will see in this video just how extremely high he can go with his voice. For a baritone singer to go in that high of an octave it's truly quite incredible. Sure hope to see you react to that. Ny the way it's not surpriding to find more clips of Jk singing acapella or live than the other members bc this man is singing almost all the time lol. Like even at the backgroud of other videos you can hear him Jungkook the last couple of years and did several live streams and the majority were 2-4 or more hours long talking, chilling and singing to army

Jin does have in unique voice tone and emotional voice but u didn't hear him much yet. Specially cuz he didn't release his solo album. Theres just few somgs of him u can hear. Sam, I’ve been watching your videos for a longgggg time, and I absolutely love them. You made me think about their sound from a different perspective, I love that your analysis is mostly about what they are actually doing technically and not about the quality or other stuff that are somewhat subjective. What you said in this video about Jin, it’s so similar to what I think about his voice, it’s always been “oh, his pitch is really good, and he always delivers”, I believe it must have something to do with the fact that he actually wanted to be an actor (he was studying at college) when he was scouted for his good looks, it seems to me he’s worked really hard on his voice, and he’s really reliable and constant.

I’m sure you have been told, but anyhow, Jk has perfect pitch. I think you should react to his most recent live clips. It’s where he will go live on weverse (media platform) and he sings to us. Good grief I could go on and on. Jk is always singing. He was born to sing. He gave up vocal lessons pretty early in his career and watched videos and self taught himself because he didn’t want to lose his unique color. He talks about that on an interview he did with HOBI (J-Hope). They all have come ALONG way in their individual techniques and styles. That’s what makes them work as a group so well. They have incredible synergy and chemistry with each other. I can’t wait for 2025 so our Men will come together again and make literal magic because believe me, they will have ALOT to rap and sing about.

We need moooooore! Also, it would be perfect to react to more recent clips as their voices have matured a lot. Most of them take singing classes regularly before releasing new music as they often try out different genres and they like to maintain a certain level of "freshness" to their vocals. Jimin for example said that he took vocal classes again before releasing his new album Muse. He wanted to perfect is vocals but mostly make them more reliable and last long. His singing was already gorgeous in my opinion but he wanted it to last in time. Sorry English is not my first language so I'm having a hard time expressing myself properly ( finding the right words 🥲) Great video, as always! I look forward to more BTS content 💜

I'm curious that Jimin said he started singing from zero for his solo albums because he didn't have good vocal technique and would hurt himself while singing. He also said that now he's not able to sing the old songs. I'm intrigued to see how they adapt the old songs to his new voice.

IMHO Jin has an extremely unique and angelic voice, especially when he goes into the higher registers. It's easily identifiable. Yes, he also is reliably stable. You'll notice that Jimin and JK will often harmonize together and individually with Jin. In layman's terms, I see Jin as the anchor tone as Jimin and JK are free to do vocal swirls around his tones when they are all harmonizing. Jin was originally only training to be an actor. He had to learn dancing and singing mostly from scratch when he entered BigHit and advanced with BTS. As the oldest, and as the one that had to scramble the hardest to get his skill set started, I suspect that Jin focuses on being the most reliable for the group. Then he completely relaxes and becomes a big kid when they are able to goof around. He's the oldest, yet he rarely pulls rank. He insists on deferring to RM as their leader. RM leads the professional group and Jin leads the family. Jin went into the military first as the oldest and the example. RM stayed out to get all of the prerecorded work completed and didn't enter until all three of the maknae line were to enter. I've always seen Jin's singing as an extension of his role in the group as a whole. EDIT: Yes, many have commented that JK is always singing, thus there are more samples available online. In addition, I've referred to him as a magpie. He has perfect pitch and he's a perfect mimic of his BTS hyungs in voice, behaviors, movements, and mannerisms. He does it so perfectly that you can instantly recognize which BTS member or celebrity that he is impersonating as he fluidly and effortlessly drops in and out of the various moments. 😂 Yes, Jimin has angelic, breathy, and delicate high tones. Then he'll smirk and growl out a lyric that makes your head snap back into attention. 🤣

The “from the desk” jimin vocal was live, and he was mic’ed, but it was just prior to a performance. it’s not a recorded studio version-his timing and pitch is slightly off in enough spots to know it isn’t any recorded version that I’m aware of. He’s practicing his runs for his solo song, Serendipity 🙂 But great reaction! They have only gotten better and better at acappella singing in the last decade. Looking forward to the next one!

I know that others have insisted the Serendipity vocals were live practice, but I’ve noticed some of the older award show vocals have a very strong studio quality. Could just be the backing tracks pushed up a bit? I adore BTS and am blown away by their stability, pitch and talent, so this isn’t to take anything away from them, just being a critical thinker.

Yes, the 'back of the head guy' is Jungkook. That's Iris Stephenson working with V. The original, 'Sister Act', story was based on her experiences as a music teacher (the showgirl story was a Hollywood construct). It was JK singing Charlie Puth's, ' See You Again'. He did a song called, 'Left and Right' with Charlie. Jungkook can sing for hours on his Live (now Weverse Live) broadcasts to fans. Although he has had a lot of vocal training as a trainee he has decided not to have more because he feels the teacher will train out the unique quality of his voice. Both Jimin and SUGA were having vocal training before going into the military. You should check out one of his Lives because many are fairly recent. Pass on the one he slept for 40 mins in though, LOL.

I got messed up as a kid on singing. I was in school choir and my teacher told me that vibrato sounded horrible and she then taught us all how NOT to use it. So I don't and here I am some 50 years later, wishing I could bring it back more. I have some but I literally have to think to do it.

Contrary to your opinion, I think Jin’s voice is unique! It’s hard to imitate his tonal quality! Try to cover his solo songs and you’ll know what I mean. I think being stable and try to have every note on point is what a professional singer should do. That’s why Jin’s live performance is so pleasant to the ears!
