Historically- Angelica was much bolder than Eliza, and if she hadn’t already been married when they met, some think Angelica would have been a better match for Alexander. Eliza was shyer. Hamilton didn’t love his Eliza any less for this, but there was always a pull toward Angelica, whose force and personality was much more like his. That may explain some of the vocal choices (?).

Even though there's a live chat, she can't interact with it because she's not actually live. This is also why there can be quick edits and cuts in a "live" video. If you look through her community tab on her channel you'll see her mention she's watched the whole thing. Hope this clears it up!

During the 🎵 "nearby park, when the night gets dark"🎵 parts, Eliza's breathing is part of the character choice. Not only is she more demur than Angelica, but she is communicating that she is down for some naughty fun. The heavier breathing is a communication of "orgasmic times to come." That's why she only does it during that one verse and not at other times throughout the operatta.

I agree with you, the vocal choice was to convey Eliza's increasing sense of frustration with not spending enough time with Alexander. She was essentially attempting to entice him, because she doesn't know how else to get his attention. But, these clips are taken out of context, and I can't agree with these critiques in isolation.

Eliza and Angelica are actually asking him to “run away with [them] for the summer”, meaning the several months of summer. As mentioned in the song, he needs to get his plan through Congress otherwise he’ll be at risk of losing his job. He feels that he needs to dedicate every ounce of his time to working on his financial plan not just as a result of this looming threat, but also because he wholeheartedly believes it’s what the nation needs to succeed and grow. So in his mind, not only is his career on the line, but also the fate of our new country. Not saying this justifies his... later actions, but his reasoning for not going on a summer vacation with his wife, children, and sister-in-law makes a lot of sense, is almost obvious, from his perspective.

I always thought the distinct difference between how Renee and Phillippa sing were very much a character choice. A way to show how different these two characters are. Almost polar opposites but still wrapped up in the same guy Then you have Jasmine coming in as Maria with an entirely different singing style compared to the polar opposite styles used for Eliza and Angelica and I always felt like these choices were very purposely done

I don't know if it Mickey is scouring the internet to strike ppl uploading the Disney+ version, but I wish they had just watched the actual musical through instead of what it seems to be...jumping around clips on KZbin based on the vote? Maybe not, the playlist order right now seems jumbled, it's hard to say. Also I think the Disney+ version had the best take with all of the songs... Phillpa actually sounds better than she did on the soundtrack 😅 but I'm digressing with wishful thinking. From what I can tell it looks like she originally watched like a live rendition of Helpless first (yt won't let me click the hyperlink so I need to search for it after finishing up these), then the Musical version of Satisfied, and then finally watched the Musical version of Helpless. So she thought she filled the prerequisite of watching Helpless first, but really you needed to *see* it. Still, I'm enjoying these a lot, I love all their insights and reactions.
