This is my favorite Hamilton song. This live version doesn’t do the song justice. I would definitely suggest listening to the studio recording or the Disney musical version. Thanks for coming back to Hamilton!

@@SSTVocalCoach LOL, ok now that I've watched that reaction not being fully aware that you were reviewing a live performance...yes, sound quality not the best and a bit different from the stage version. His voice has gotten more smooth with time (as if that were possible) but you still caught his portrayal of Burr through all the background noise. Strongly recommend watching the entire show, you will not be disappointed. Each song is it's own master class, it is so hard to narrow down a favorite. Every time I watch it I pick up something new. Thanks for circling back to Hamilton!

Personally, I’d prefer to have good audio and no video. You can watch the video, so it gives you more to comment on, and just don’t show it on the reaction. This is such a powerful song in the play. But do whatever is easiest to keep the reaction going. :)

Thank you! Can I say it's worth paying for Disney+ just so you can access the videos with subtitles with the acting? YT usually allows the use of the videos when it's for teaching purposes? You could even blur out the content a bit which is what other people have done when reacting. Sooo recommend watching it in its entirety in Disney+ such a brilliant musical ❤❤❤

I am glad we got your reaction to this, it's my favorite song from the musical. It is unfortunate that the only live recording was full of people singing and screaming over him 🙄🙄🙄🙄 would have preferred the recording or the pro shot of the musical to having to hear all that, but I understand that this is what was voted for.

New artist for you! His name is Ren. He is a welsh singer and raps/plays acoustic guitar. He has many years of health issues and his songs are about his health. At least a fair amount of them. Listen to Hi Ren or Sick Boi.

Seconding this. Brilliant, raw performer; a lot of his work is rap-oriented (though I feel it's much less monotone and mumbly than a lot of modern rap) but he has great range in his singing as well: vocally, emotionally, expressively, breath control. "Hi Ren" is the essential place to start, but other pieces where he is singing include "Chalk Outlines (live)" with Chinchilla, "Crutch" with Bibi, "Earned It/Man's World/Falling" which will also introduce you to the phenomenal high range of Sam Tompkins. Also his busking band The Big Push: live covers of "Bongo Bong", "Englishman in New York" and especially "I Shot The Sheriff/Road to Zion/Hip Hop" (red suspenders version), along with many original works. Ren's catalog is deep in quantity and quality, and wide and surprising in genres, haven't found a "meh" track yet. Would love your insights on his self-taught skills and chameleon styles!

I know you’ve had this comment already, but watch the version of this song from the Disney+ live version. This is one of the best songs in the show and he absolutely kills it. This recording doesn’t do it justice. Even if you watch it/listen to it just for yourself.

I'd really love to see you revisit Hua Chenyu again, it would be interesting to see what you think of his work since the 2018 performances you looked at a while ago. Perhaps his 2020 performance of Jackdaw Boy, or his 2019 live concert performance of Madhouse, or his 2021 concert performances such as Airplane mode or I really want to love the world, or Here we are from his September 2022 Mars chapter 9th anniversary concert (a semi-classical style arrangement !)
