I believe Geoff actually arranges a lot (if not most) of their covers, and in all of them everyone has a moment to shine in the song. To be perfectly honest, Geoff is my favorite basso profundo singer on KZbin. Like... I never get enough of his low notes. As such, I really have to encourage you to listen to more of VoicePlay. They do a wonderful job of making sure that all of their singers get time in the spotlight across their videos. They even had their first run of their "Part Work" series, where two of the singers would cover a song just themselves with layering to round out the number of parts. Still, if I had to suggest one song for you to listen to next, it would be I Can't Help Falling in Love With You. Now, good news and bad news. First the bad: Earl has stepped down from Voice Play here within the last year. I'm still kind of reeling from that, and he's going to be missed. Still, 23 years in the group... he's kind of earned it. Now the good news. Geoff (while still being in VoicePlay) has his own solo channel as well. He does sing, but also reads spooky poems and the like. You talk about them being such great characters... I hands down have to agree. They do great character work throughout their videos. They can even (as you've seen) play some really outstanding villains. So, on the whole... welcome to VoicePlay. You're not going to be upset.

You don't really have to be afraid of the group hiding Geoff's voice, because he does a lot of the arrangements. XD They are great musicians, they even had a camp where they taught people how to sing acapella. (I wish I had known about it when it was happening, seriously :'( ) The group is pretty good, both at singing cooperatively and sharing the spotlight. That's one of the reasons I love Voice Play, you can really tell that Egos are thrown out the door in favor of just creating fantastic music.

If you really like Geoff's low notes in this song, you need to check out his cover of Blackbird

If you watch it with captions on, that last line has added emphasis beyond the actual words: (lower), (even lower), and (subterranean)! And did you notice that low warble/rumble after the line “to add a little spice”? You can see Geoff in the background doing that. It’s his voice also! And his name is pronounced like “Jeff.”

The little run is heavily edited. You can hear they used an octave effect in post. So Geoff probably sang the run from C#3 to C#2 but it sounds like C#2 to C#1 with the effect added.

@@adambaldoni5491 Geoff said he sang it in two octaves, which are layered over each other.
@adambaldoni54914 жыл бұрын
@@livvhas3447 Where did he say that? Geoff has given no indication that he can sing that low with that level of vocal agility. There's 100% an octaviser effect on his track making the run sound an octave lower.

@@adambaldoni5491 Ok, so. I remember hearing him say it, but that may be a mind trick. However. In a reply to a comment by Kesekuchaen asking about how that run was produced on the second part of his Q&A video, he said: 'I sang that run in 2 different octaves, so what you're hearing is me, just doubled. There's no craziness there, it sounds funny because it's both octaves in parallel at the same time. Hope that helps'.

I will suggest if y’all like bass, watch the bass battle between Tim, Avi, and this guy in the video. Y’all would love it

iroically geoff can naturally hit as high as that. i watched a video from him he said he doesn't identify as a bass he identifies as a baritone with a low register
