Powerwolf are the nicest we’ve ever met. We are part of the cosplay crew for Bloodstock open air, they played there in 2019 and asked my dad to come on stage as their wolf (their mascot) at the end. They also have great crowd interactions, I sat in the photographers pit at the front and they had so much fun with their crowd 😊

Attila can sing from operatic to belting and raspy vocals like screaming. He is a dramatic tenor. He has a vocal range of C2-B♭5. FROM WIKI

Oh yes, it IS his voice.... One of the best voices EVER!

The lead singer, Atilla Dorn, is classically trained which explains how he's able to generate such amazing tone both in the studio and live. You should check out Killers With the Cross or Fire and Forgive. In those songs you can really feel the sheer power of his voice.

Let's not miss what's most important here. The plant is now on the left. He's a good plant. I really like the meta aspect of this video. Plant is being a diva, demanding 1/3 of the screen. Then there's us, reacting to the dog, reacting to you, reacting to Powerwolf, who is reacting to a great 2018. Dizzying.

Yes, I’d like to see him react to one of Attila’s live versions of Armata Strigoi, which shows his command of the crowd as well as his lead vocal ability. This song as well doesn’t have any of Attila’s signature Latin lyric opera voice like other songs like Sanctified With Dynamite, Amen And Attack, We Drink Your Blood or my personal favorite Extatum Et Oratum (a hidden gem among Powerwolf songs). I was surprise to see how fast you picked up on Attila’s addition of the “tah”! at the end of each lyrical phrase. It is something he does in every song. The only time he doesn’t include that sound is when ending a phrase while singing in his operatic voice. Only when singing in his metal, distorted voice does he add that “tah”! which really adds punch to fill out the line line with an exclamation point to it. I really didn’t pick up on his constant use of that technique until I had heard a number of Powerwolf songs. I am an old school metal fan, coming up during the early years of Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin from the 70s and through the 1980s when I played in metal bands. I really like Powerwolf because I think that Attila Dorn reflects a lot of the great early metal singers like Ronnie James Dio, Robert Plant, Ian Gillian and others who blended classic well-trained vocal tones with vocal distortion to create the classic voices we’ve come to know as metal voices. I think he brings this feeling back to modern metal and has added his own signature by including the operatic parts to many songs. His vocals are very unique.

This vocal style is not hard on the vocal cords when you get the good techniques. The resonnance and distortion comes from the palate to the back of the upper teeth . That is why it is easy for him to pull up high notes. The masters of this type of voice are Ronnie James Dio and his spiritual son Jorn Lande . Jorn Lande - I walk Alone (Tarja Turunen cover) is a great version of this diva that was for a long time ,the voice of Nightwish.

Y'all maybe disagree with me, but react to Dragonforce - Fury of the Storm (Live in Japan 2015)
@crabuki12734 жыл бұрын
I'm not SST but I went and watched. Sounds a lot like Dragonforce, which is not a bad thing at all, there's just not a lot between this and "Through the Fire and Flames" or several of their other songs. I mean, if you define a genre, is it bad that you don't often venture outside that genre? How Herman Li et al haven't needed tendon surgeries by this point is beyond me. It's always fun to watch him typewriter the frets. The singer's style screams Rob Halford on lots of their songs, which isn't the worst vocal role model. Their guitar *tones* remind me of late 1990s Royal Hunt. I never "crave" listening to Dragonforce. I wouldn't listen to an entire album at once, for example. Yet I'm always glad when I take the time to listen one of their songs. They're always a fun "Hey look at that!" experience.
@kodoqbesar43014 жыл бұрын
@@crabuki1273 TBH their newer albums sound more diverse rather than when they're still with ZP. The Power Within is still experimenting Marc's voice, Maximum Overload and Reaching into Infinity are the most diverse Dragonforce have ever been. There's heavy, ballad, fast, and many more. Extreme Power Metal is also pretty diverse.
