Sofronio vasquez is a vocal coach also. In the voice usa 2024 its doesnt matter how perfect or not the pitch of your voice,as long you deliver the song well and catches the peoples heart. This is the final song no one cares if its a has technical issue in his voice regarding the performance. They already prove themself in the competition. Sometimes you need to risk to get in the right direction of the song. Too much perfect in a technical matter of your voice doesnt guarantee you to have a good performance. The song choice was perfect for him. It reflects his entire journey . He said in an interview that he was fighting tears while singing the song. How you convey the message of the song and connect to the listeners is more important than being too technical.

I voted for Sofronio not only because I’m Filipino from LA, it’s because of his amazing performances. It was Michael Buble who chose this song for him. According to Michael, who is a very experienced performer, said one need not be technically perfect when performing. What is important is connecting to the audience. And that what Sofronio was able to do with his finale performance. Other voice coaches who reacted to this even cried at the end. You were the only one who said the song was a wrong choice. When you said he was having a lot of stress at the end, actually it was his emotions. Sofronio won the Voice USA with a landslide margin. I think you could learn something from Michael Buble. There is always room for improvement and learning never ends.

Michael Bublé was one of the coaches, and Sofronio, who did become the champion, was on his team. The first Filipino or Asian to win The Voice USA. He's recently been giving performances on ASAP and It's Showtime, where they celebrate his win. A number of years ago he was a contestant on TNT (I don't know how he placed), and numerous other singing competitions, I gather. He does have a nice vibrato in his belting voice. I think this song and performance was the weakest of his performances on The Voice but he did very well on a number of others. I was wondering how you knew that he was having trouble hearing his voice in the first part, assuming he was. In the Philippines in the last year I realized when I heard JM Dela Cerna sing solo recently, a Michael Bolton medley, for example, that he may be the best of the young male singers. His range is crazy. He won the TNT Duets competition with Marielle Montellano a year or so ago (their duets are so perfect in harmony they seem like they are pitch corrected, but they're not). On last the last ASAP (yesterday their time) all the "New Gen" male singers including JM Dela Cerna, did an ensemble version of She's Gone, and each one repeated a climactic couple bars one after the other so you can compare them. JM Dela Cerna took it up another level in range from the others. He actually came in second on TNT a number of years ago--I reviewed the finale performance last year and thought maybe he should've won. I think that's the year John Mark Saga won.

It took Sofronio 7 auditions before he qualified for the Tawag ng Tanghalan (TnT) as he ended to be the 2nd runner up. After then he was hired to coach 3 TNT contestants who all became champions. Just curious, how many of your vocal students who became champions at prestigious singing competitions with the same category of TnT? I expect you have plenty of champion students.😊😊

He did come in behind John Mark Saga, who was second but that was the year Elaine Duran won. This is weird I'm using Apple enhanced dictation and when I dictate Elaine's name it comes out Elaine Duran Duran Duran Duran. Even if it were coming up with the name of the band which repeats her last name, this is what happens if I try to dictate that name: Duran Duran Duran Duran Duran Duran Duran Duran. I've never seen it behave this way before. I have to train it by swatting its nose and saying phooey.

Among thousands of auditionees, only one will emerge as the winner in any given season and in any country. From my observations of these winners, I notice a common thread: in addition to being skilled singers, they know how to adapt and demonstrate humility. While excellent technical singing and coaching are important, they alone do not guarantee success. Humility and adaptability can make a contestant-whether a singer, reactor, or coach-more likable and can significantly enhance their journey and viewers's support, helping to define what it takes to be a winner. Timing and luck also play a crucial role. These principles apply not only to singers but also to video reactors, music coaches, and others in the field. Ignoring these elements can result in a mechanical approach that exhibits pride but lacks context and compassion. These thoughts are simply my perspective as an ordinary viewer.
