Adele has a raw power that many vocalists can only dream of. It's interesting to hear her talk in an interview, and then go over to a microphone and blast out a song like it is nothing at all. A total guilty pleasure for me - the Live at Royal Albert Hall show is fantastic.

She does have 'em mate. Went to see her live and she started a song on the wrong note, stopped the music and said ' nah, start again I fucked up the first note', so they did. She is just awesome.. I don't usually like mainstream music, but she is my guilty pleasure and fav by far

Thank you soo much for the video! Being a fan especially of the era, one can actually notice that her voice went through a lot during 21. If I remember correctly she had laryngitis just before the release of her album back in December 2010, which forced her to quit smoking and alcohol but at the same time she had to promote her album. Then again after April/May one can hear that her voice is gradually changing. She also said in an interview in July 2011 that during a concert she suffered vocal hemorrhage but sang through it and then had again laryngitis. And then in September 2011, which means just before the RAH gig, she cancelled shows because of a cold/flu. One week exactly after this show she completely lost her voice and was diagnosed with severe vocal hemorrhage. Overall within 9 months she suffered laryngitis twice or three times, cold and kept on touring. This explains the soarness and heaviness on her voice as well. I have to ask though i have been dying to learn; what is that technique she does when she sings the "WATCHED it pour as..." part called? I have been dying to learn more about it but i cant find any info

I would like to see the three singers of Chicago; Terry Kath, Peter Cetera and Robert Lamm. I can’t think of any rock group with three such talented singers.
@StevesFunhouse3 жыл бұрын
Three Dog Night, Cory Wells (RIP), Danny Hutton and Chuck Negron ... pure gold. Not that my opinion matters but, I would agree with Terry Kath and Robert Lamm, but only on Peter Cetera BEFORE Chicago transformed into the "Peter Cetera band" (after Terry died). They just got so repetitious I can't listen to any of it after 1978. I'm definitely NOT a fan.
@tyroberts22613 жыл бұрын
@@StevesFunhouse I actually totally agree. Peter Cetera has one of the best voices I’ve ever heard, but what they did with it is a tragedy. I think they just were done in by the ranch, drugs and sadness after Kath died. It’s sad, but most bands only last a few years of really good stuff.
@StevesFunhouse3 жыл бұрын
@@tyroberts2261 Perfect analysis. They just lost the fire after Terry died. It definitely devastated them. I've seen an interview where, I think it was 1 of the horn players said that, to this day, if you mention Terry's name, the entire band sheds a tear.

Hi Beth. Great reaction, as always. I appreciate your warmth, your knowledge and your willingness to share these gifts with us. It is on these grounds though, that I hope I can some nice Patreon to help get a request out. It's not a person or song that I imagine anyone would think of these days. However, I am haunted by these beautiful songs that get stuck in my head, that most of us have forgotten over the years, and it DOES seem to be a lot of reactors' goals to, as JameL_AKA_Jamal says, "keep great music alive", so I would hope people speak up about this one. The artist is Anne Murray, and the song is Snowbird. She has a very interesting voice and I would love to hear your analysis of this song (kzbin.info/www/bejne/rpyrf6JsfaeYrLs ). It's very short, as most songs go, but it's nicely done and she has some nice vocal qualities/techniques ... not earth shattering, but warm, soothing and pretty. I would just be really interested in your take on this song.
