They stopped her and asked her to sing any song and then the lady said THAT song again without music and as soon as she started the one guy said "well there it is". After they told her she sounded like a CD was playing she was so good. Side note....she had no formal training. Her friend pushed her into this. Double side note. She sang some English songs and despite being Ukranian you literally couldn't tell at all. Theres a reason she won the show that season.

I believe that some vocal cords are giving out a "sympathetic tone" meaning that two vocal cords are making each tone instead of just one vocal cord. The best I can describe it would be a guitar laying next to a guitar that is being played and the stationary guitar is vibrating "sympathetic" frequencies to the guitar that is being played.

The mic has no reverb on it. There is a keyboard following the vocal line in the backing track with a delay on it. But the mic is not processed. The "reverb" you hear is the sound of her voice returning to the mic after it has left the speakers in the house. Perfect pitch doesn't refer to a quality of a voice. It refers specifically to the ability of being able to recognize any tempered pitch by name, immediately. Her voice is rich in overtones which is what makes it special. She could be singing this well and not possess perfect pitch.

She has perfect pitch. Most people do not know that perfect pitch is developed at a very early age. It is not something you can "learn" later on in life. I played drums and keyboards, For me, it is often hard to hear the notes and takes longer to learn a song. My friend has perfect pitch and he can play any instrument. I digress, My only criticism is not of Aida in the least, It is the show which interrupted a perfect take of the piece she is singing.
@somebodyody
@somebodyody 9 ай бұрын
There’s a huge misconception that perfect/absolute pitch will give a musician the ability to be perfectly in tune. I’ve heard this misconception most in relation to singers and instruments like violin that require a lot of pitch awareness and control. Having been through music at university and as a teacher, I have met quite a lot of people with perfect pitch and tbh, it’s a lot less useful than you may think and can actually be a hindrance in many cases. My students with very good relative pitch tend to play more in tune and this is because pitch is more complex than just A = 440hz Of course there are people with perfect pitch who do extremely well but just want to point out that not all do and that just because someone does do well doesn’t necessarily mean they have perfect pitch 😉
