One thing that I think artists can get caught up in is performing the song in the same way every time. I have seen artists deviate from songs and get backlash before, so I can understand the trepidation. But I really respect and appreciate when they do personally. I think this rendition is great. It has really made me value her Andra Day more. There's a certain tenderness and softness to the quality of her voice that really cares the emotion into those belts and higher notes. I think this might be my favourite version of the song. I actually typed of most of this response before the video finished. Then Tara started talking and I definitely feel validated now. Tara thank you for your coaching. I am a musician and a natural singer until the last couple of years. My voice has suffered from multiple medical issues and it makes me so sad I can't even Sing along to music. It's like having an arm removed. I have voice drs and voice therapists but with the virus I'm sad it is on hold. Practicing what they taught me until I can go safely back. I'm that rare person that gets weird medical stuff. I love your channel and it gives me hope I might get my voice back again.
