World Class Master vocalist at 16. We several million fans are well aware of her superior talents. We all have heard many many experts try to find something, we all have opinions, really does not matter. This was a tribute to one of her favorite artists and idols growing up not a competition with Whitney who recorded her studio cover at 29 yrs old. Thanks for the reaction.

She speaks four or five languages with English being her third. She plays piano guitar violin and flute. She's seventeen now and signed with Republic records at age 14. She won Norway's got talent at age 8. She is coming out with her first album with Republic records this fall. If you really want to learn her story I would suggest that you watch the documentary. Born to Sing Angelina Jordan... She is quite amazing. BTW vocal coaches can learn a lot from her...

She is really a jazz singer, but she stretches to every other genre. You might be interested how she turns BILLY JEAN into a jazz song. She opened a jazz concert with a Labyrinth song MOUNT EVEREST. Queen was so impressed with her Bohemian Rapsody AGT audition version, they gave her the copy right for it.

It’s impossible to see that James Brown poster and not tell you your next Angelina song should be her cover of It’s a Man’s World. It’s Angelina, live, at 12 years old, with an orchestra behind her, giving us her version of James Brown’s iconic song. It will rock you-a little girl from Norway with a huge voice belting out soul that you could never imagine. It’s a great example of how Angelina sings so many genres authentically, paying respect to the original, but giving you a version you will always remember as hers.

Great show. Thank you. I think the thing that will become more apparent as you listen to Angelina sing, is that there is no one as versatile as she is. I don't think I've ever heard anyone sing across so many genres and also give the original song a competitive showing.

If there ever was a reason to believe in something greater than us, or in reincarnation, Angelina Jordan is definitely it. She truly has the rare ability to connect with us, from her soul to ours, through her music, so we not only hear her magical voice, but also, feel it too. Really enjoyed your raw, informative & emotional reaction** ❤ 💚 💜 ***ANGELINA JORDAN IS TRULY A BLESSING*** ❤ 💚 💜

You have a poster for a James Brown tour on your wall; I assume you're a fan. You should check out her performance of 'It's a Man's World"; I think you'd like it. There is a no-one like this girl. She's been killing it singing jazz classics since she was seven but does not limit herself in terms of style or genre. She's the absolute best as far as I'm concerned. She actually did perform this in the original key when she was 13 - something Whitney never did live - when she was 13. She had to reach a couple of times but she hit the notes. You should watch that also.😎

Angelina will be putting out her first album with Republic Records Label this year. Some covers & some of her own material. She has performed some of her own material on Utube before signing with Republic Records at 14. I believe she did one of her own material after signing. It was in memory of her grandfather who passed away. I have watched her growth musically since winning Norway Got Talent at 7-8. Her performance on AGT was something to watch as well for a 13yr old. Every piece she has put on Utube has been an exercise in pushing herself vocally. Now at 17 she is still looking to advance vocally. Some have voiced that maybe this (at whatever age prior) is the best she'll do, which is good. Surprise! That is what as a listener gets. More surprises.

Her English is flawless which is apparent when you she is being interviewed. When singing Angelina choses her pronunciation for her performance and not necessarily follows the way you’d say when talking to someone. The timing is a jazz timing where you sing around the rhythm to create tension and to make it a more exciting.

Check out her cover of “It’s a Man’s World” Or her 9 year old version of screaming, jay Hawkins. I put a spell on you black and white version. I really enjoy hearing all the different voices. She brings to the music and tweaking things to make it her own. I think I love that about her the most. I enjoyed your reaction. Looking forward to watching more. Thank you.🤟💕 I believe Whitneys is a higher key. I don’t think this is Angelina Jordan’s type of song and I hope I don’t get beat up for saying that Whitney had a beautiful voice. It was one of a kind nobody will replace that but I do enjoy the way, Angelina Jordan took a risk doing that song.

What was not considered in Mr. Harris’ evaluation is the fact that a woman’s singing voice isn’t fully developed until they reach their late twenties. Whitney was twenty-eight or nine years old when she recorded this song. Angelina is sixteen years old in this brilliant performance. That means she’s still got another eleven to twelve years before her vocal development and maturity reaches it’s physical peak. Now imagine how a twenty-eight year old Angelina would sound like singing this song.

@Mr. Harris RYC To put it in the context; the story "singing with no shoes" - Angelina decided not to wear shoes while singing as a nine year old or something like that. Also, must warn you that you started on with a wrong "foot", too. You should've started with her early work like "Angelina Jordan - I Put A Spell On You". You'll understand why jazz is her domain.

You said "It just wasn't enough for me...". "I wanted more" "I wanted more power"... "It's not the original key"..."She was a little off with the timing"...Sir, with respect, you listened to this song and wanted to hear the original singer...PERIOD. Your comments from the jump, showed you wanted to hear the original. IMO, some can duplicate the original version, but an ARTIST like Angelina isn't a "cookie cutter" performer, she isn't a karaoke singer... Again I reiterate, she is an ARTIST. You should've just listened to the original recording. You are familiar with jazz?? Angelina wasn't off time with the track, She's "back phrasing" which is very much a staple of jazz singing...You apparently prefer belting through most of song.... What Angelina does IS the original, it's HER original. Frankly this rendition was fresh, sung with emotion... E-MO-TION.. her phrasing and lyrical understanding were blended to produce this exquisite rendition... A marriage of her vocal skills and lyrics, the ebb and flow, of the music... No "running through a china shop"...belting your way through. At best, I can at least say you didn't interrupt, and let this weak, powerless, off beat, anemic figment of your imagination run its course. Thank you for expertly demonstrating the difference between a reaction and a CRITIQUE...yours was the latter. As such, I will take the opportunity to give you my CRITIQUE: just listen to originals and you'll never "WANT" again. I wish you the best.. your fans will continue to support you... You might dig into a group named "The Contours" a song called "Do You Love Me"... There's tons of belting in it 😉PEACE

It’s called “jazz phrasing”. Not speech impediment or second language. Her background is jazz from about age 3. Also somebody is giving your staff incorrect information. Her Grandmother produced the Suspicious Minds video in the shop with antiques. She does not own the shop. Grandma is a famous artist, not shop owner. Angelina met a young girl in the Middle East on the street weighing people on a bathroom scale to earn money. The girl had no shoes and Angelina gave her shoes to her. The girl said she would pray for Angelina and now Angelina sings barefoot to remember that girl and the other children in need. AJ did all that at 6 years old. She wrote a book about it at 9 years old and is still the youngest published author in Norway. Your criticism of getting bored and wanting more “power” just makes no sense. Whitney was in a studio age 29 and David Foster, the producer said she had to do many takes to sing that song in the key he wanted. WH sang it in the lower key in her live performances. David Foster had worked with Angelina several times and tried to sign her up from age 8. Angelina sang this song in the same key as WH’s studio recording at age 13. Thank you for reacting to our favorite young lady. I just wanted to give you the correct information.

Great comments and analysis. I'll look forward to your next one... Norwegian born Angelina Jordan began singing at the age of one and a half, and by age three was listening to jazz and classics legends on repeat. Her grandmother was her greatest influence, but Angelina chose her own path. Her first studio performance was at age 7, singing I Who Have Nothing. She won Norway's Got Talent at the age of only 8, singing old time classics from Billie Holliday and George Gershwin, and became the youngest ever vocalist to win an international Got Talent Show! Her performance at 9 years old of Screamin Jay Hawkins, I Put a Spell on You is considered one of the finest recordings ever of a 9-year-old vocalist! Angelina also went viral on America's Got Talent the champions in 2020 with her unique versions of Bohemian Rhapsody and Goodbye Yellow Brick Road. Angelina sings in English which unbelievably is her third language! She is a true prodigy. She is now 17, and has recorded a huge library of songs, including covers and several originals. A major attraction to Angelina's music is the emotion and attitude she conveys, although she has not experienced the life events! She is known as the barefoot princess of 1,000 voices as she can adjust her tone, style, and register for any song or genre. She was signed by Republic Records almost two years ago. She has not been widely promoted yet, as her family wanted to allow her a normal childhood. However, she graduates school this year, and her new album of originals should be released within the next few months, followed by a world tour, possibly this summer. Here is a link from ages 6 to 17 of over 100 Angelina chronological KZbin performances with five originals. Here is a more comprehensive playlist of approximately 190 videos including tiktok and Instagram. Why does Angelina sing barefoot? The answer may bring a tear to your eye. It is related to a promise she made to herself and to the world when she was only 6 years old. She was traveling in the Middle East with her mom and grandmother and they came across a young orphan girl with no shoes and scarred feet. Angelina gave the girl her own favorite shoes. Angelina ask the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and she said a doctor, but she could not because she had to take care of her siblings. She asked Angelina the same question and Angelina said I want to sing for the world. The young girl said she would pray for Angelina. Since then, Angelia has forever performed barefoot as a reminder of all those less fortunate. At age 9 she wrote a book about this experience, Between two Hearts, becoming the youngest ever published author in Norway. She also has helped raise millions for children's charities. She even donated her winnings from Norway's Got Talent to charities. She is a special individual, and one you cannot follow without developing an emotional bond. Angelina captures hearts because she is humble and has compassion for humanity. Her stated goal from childhood was to sing for the world and spread love and peace. I trust this will cause you to embrace her as millions of others have, and that you will continue down the rabbit hole from which you will not want to escape. Peace and love. Nice job highlighting something many miss talking about explicitly, and that is the tasteful ornamentation Angelina uses at the end of phrases and elsewhere. One of the things that has been extraordinary about her through the years is her intuition about what kind of vocal stylings serve a particular song well. So many singers, especially young ones, are focused on showing off what they can do technically, that they overdo the runs and belts in their performances. Yes, they have skill, but style and taste? Not so much. She is unlike anyone or anything you or I have known. I hope you keep checking out her stuff, even if just for your own sake. My friend, what she does is balm for the soul...

You need a much better sampling of AJ's work! I'm sure that others will give you many suggestions of the many KZbin and TikTok performances by Angelina. Her mastery of conveying the message of the songs she sings is unreal. Her ability to arrange vocals that enhance that messaging is remarkable. Her variety of vocal techniques is crazy. In short, she will someday rival all of the great vocalists that have preceded her!

*Why Angelina always performs barefoot* At age 6, while traveling in the Middle East with her mother and grandmother, Angelina noticed a girl around her age standing on the side of the road, asking people to step on her bathroom scale to be weighed in hopes of getting some money. Angelina took off her shoes so as to not get the scale dirty and stepped on the scale many times to make the girl feel better. Angelina befriends the girl who was not wearing shoes and has scars on her feet, and learns she is an orphan. The orphan girl tells Angelina how beautiful she thinks her shoes are. Angelina says her shoes don’t fit her well and she wants to give her shoes to the orphan girl who thanks Angelina for giving her the shoes. Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and the girl replied, “I want to become a doctor, but that will never happen since I have no parents and I have siblings so I have to do whatever is necessary for us to survive.” Angelina told the girl to never give up on her dreams. The poor girl asked Angelina what she wanted to be when she grew up and Angelina replied that she wanted to sing for the whole world. The poor girl said she would pray every day so Angelina’s dream would come true. Angelina still says she thinks of that homeless girl every day and has always performed barefoot to remind her of all the children who are less fortunate. At age 9, she became the youngest published author in Norway’s history by writing a book about this encounter in the Middle East. PLEASE PURCHASE Angelina’s book from her merchandise store on her official website, angelinajordanofficial

It might’ve been better if you would’ve played her original studio version of “I have nothing” when she was 12 or 13. At that time with that recording reached Whitney Houston‘s high notes but she has not sang those high notes in the video you played and that may be intentional, but at any rate she hasn’t sang those high notes the way Whitney did since her studio version when she was 13, that version is much more impressive than the one you played for KZbin. I just thought you might want to check that one out on your own or not, but it is significantly better than the one you played.

Angelina nails almost anything she sings, but i say almost because this song here is a really hard song to sing good. But she nailed this one now, but at 12yo she struggled. She has gotten alot of praise for the 12yo version too, but I cant listen to it because i can hear how she is fighting it. That said, i don't know any other artist who would present a performance not perfect. Also, bear in mind Angelinas performances are unaltered, clean of autotune - every! time! That is her 100%. That makes her special. Her ability to have us tear up to almost anything she sings is special. And the fact that we have had the chance to see her grow up and develop is unique! And all that makes us love her. I feel Angelina has millions of "dads, moms, grandfathers and grandmothers, uncles, aunts, brothers and sisters" out there who are all her angels. Please don't recommend IPASO or Ease on me to him, because they're a bit more boring than this performance here, and that says a lot. Just because of his entertaining comments I didn't fall asleep in the middle of the song. And someone should contact Republic Records and ask why they're delivering such a bad backing track to one of their priority artists. All in all, I'm looking forward to the next reaction, because what I've seen so far is more refreshing than comparable - more technically oriented - from other vocal coaches.

Thanks for your reaction! She is only 17 years old today and from Norway. She signed with the label Republic Records just 14 years old, I think we can safely leave the promotion to Republic Record. Marketing will start when her full album is released later this year. There's only one EP with 6 songs she's released from RR now, and they haven't started marketing until the full album is released!. Republic Records know 100% what they are doing? I think a lot of people don't realize how much Angelina has done in her short life (17). FIFA song - She performed in front of 40 000 people only 11 years old invited by Norah Jones. She was also specially invited by Quincy Jones to perform on his 85th birthday in the O2 arena / London. And so on goes the list... She has over 250 songs on KZbin with cover songs and many originals. Angelina also plays piano and guitar. The truth is that within a year or two she will be the artist for the big occasions. and not a "bare belly plastic artist" who tops a list for a week and is forgotten just as quickly. She already eats most female vocalists for breakfast, and the label Republic Records and the rest of the music industry know that too! Angelina Jordan has nothing to prove. When she sometimes belts is it because the fits in the performances. She sings to us only she can!

Angelina Jordan Astar is undoubtedly to me the most talented artist of all time either male or female. I who have nothing, which was the first recording i had seen of this dear angel at age 6, made it extremely obvious of her talent. She has over 200 songs out there mainly covers but now about nine or ten original songs, all of which are top class. You could argue that particular singers are better at individual songs, but i am not aware of anyone else who has 200+ songs where you can argue that each and every one is outstanding in their own way. Angelina covers all genre of music just about, and i am sure she will cover the rest eventually. Some even say there needs to be a genre specifically for her. Look up her home studio version of i have nothing which she does at age 13, and remember, Whitney was 28 when she recorded this same song. I love Whitney, always have. Lots of people also compare Angelina to Amy Winehouse. Personally, i think a lot of artists need to be compared to Angelina.

- The Barefoot Princess - (From her book, television and radio interviews, and podcasts made between 2014-2015. Includes excerpts from her diary made that day in 2012.) Why does Angelina sing barefooted? Angelina Jordan is known as "The Barefoot Princess" or "The Barefoot Princess of Jazz," amongst many other names. She always performs barefooted, whether in front of a live audience or during a studio performance. The story is that while living in the Middle East, at 6 years old, Angelina came across an orphaned girl, of her own age, sitting in the street, weighing people on a bathroom scale to earn money. Angelina said to herself, "I would like to share her life for one second to know what it is like to sit alone, wet, and damp, and barefoot in a corner of the street." Angelina could see the girl's bare feet were scarred and that it was cold outside, so she offered her own shoes to the girl. Little Angelina says that she really loved her shoes, as they were very nice and she knew she would miss them. But she saw the other little girl’s need for them, which outweighed her own desire to keep them. So she insisted the little girl take them. Angelina called her Princess, even though the girl said she didn't live in a castle, but the ruins of a building next to where she sat. After sharing their hopes and dreams, the little girl said of Angelina's wish to sing for the world, "You will become the one you dream of and when your dreams come true, you have to remember the poor children without shoes; and I will pray for you Angelina.” Later that day, 6 y/o Angelina wrote in her diary, "The world is very strange. Right then and there, I felt as if a door in my heart opened up, and it was filled with lots of lights. It was as if there was, from Earth to Heaven, a staircase. I climbed the stairs. To be able to do something for another human - it was such a big thing…hard to describe really.” From that point on, Angelina takes off her shoes, in honor of ‘Princess’ and all the other less fortunate children of the world, who are orphaned, hungry, or in want of even basic clothing. In 2015, at the age of 9, Angelina wrote a book about the encounter, as everyone continued to ask why she sang barefoot. Her grandmother, Mery Zamani, created the artwork for the book. So at 9, Angelina Jordan became the youngest published author in Norway. Angelina has performed alongside many other artists, raising attention and helping to raise over 21 million euros and millions of dollars for children in need.

Your hype man got all the facts wrong about AJ, do your homework. She has over 180 songs on KZbin, To understand her now you really need to see where she began. It's not her grandmothers shop, a friend of the family I believe. Also, Quincy Jones personally invited her to sing the opening number, Fly Me to the Moon, at O2 Arena in London for his 85th birthday. Enjoy!

- Who is Angelina Jordan - Angelina is a Norwegian born child prodigy in music. She's a singer/ songwriter who's arranged over 180 covers and 5 originals, all since the age of 7. Angelina began singing at 18 months old. At 2, she began teaching herself how to sing, focusing primarily on the jazz masters of decades gone by. These are artists such as Billie Holiday, Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald, and Etta James. She's also influenced by Amy Winehouse, Frank Sinatra, Whitney Houston, and Adele, to name a few. She's also been said to be the girl of 1,000 voices. Yet even though we can hear the phrasing and style she puts in the songs, it's always Angelina that we hear. At 7 years old, she auditioned for Norway's Got Talent. She was the last to audition. The judges had no idea who she was or what she could do. They saw a diminutive mussy haired, barefooted girl with her teeth still growing in. For her audition, she performed "Gloomy Sunday" from Billie Holiday. On TV-2, they've reported over 14 million views of this performance. This does not take into account the many hundreds of reactors showing this audition to millions more. Needless to say, Angelina went on to win the 2014 season of NGT shortly after her 8th birthday. The family was bombarded with requests for performances, interviews, and record label offers. They turned down 90% of the requests, as they insisted that Angelina should enjoy a normal childhood. That didn't stop Angelina from performing at select engagements around the world, singing for Heads of State, and even Barack Obama. She's spent time and worked with musicians such as Quincy Jones and Alan Walker. She first appeared on American television, The View, at 8 years old. Angelina auditioned for America's Got Talent The Champions at 13 years old. She made it just up to the final selection of the final 5 when she dropped from the competition. It wasn't that she wasn't good enough to be in the final 5, but it was because she refused to sign with an AGT affiliated label, should she win. She knew very well what production hungry labels could do to her music. She even turned down Disney. At 14, Angelina signed with Republic Records. Republic gave her complete artistic control as well as control over the performances she would make. She turned 17 on January 10, 2023, and will graduate from high school after the spring semester. From then on, she will embark on her full-time professional career. She's been working closely with Republic on her first album under their label. It's likely that it will drop shortly after her graduation.

Angelina does make some unusual conscious diction choices. English is her third language behind Farsi and Norwegian. She did change the key a bit. The track was recorded by Republic Studio. The piano player is the head of their Los Angeles studio.

In my opinion, if you prefer R&B and Soul, Whitney Houston is your reference, but if you prefer Jazz, Billie Holiday is your reference. Angelina Jordan, 16 at recording time, an Alto, is a jazz singer, her reference is BH, but she sings WH songs like few others can. There's no language problems, Angelina is including her jazz soul in the song.

I enjoyed this version, but prefer her tribute one from 4 years ago. I think she played with the timestamps here which didn't deliver but her embelishments are better and more mature. This particular song is engraved too deep from Whitney's performance on the Bodyguard, that every variance sounds odd. I had the same problem with the Sohyang's rendition at the beginning, but now it is by far my favorite of this wonderful song. 👍

I don't think the enunciation point you mention (which is valid) is to do with English being her second/ third language (actually I suspect she grew up more or less bilingual or trilingual, learning English, along with Norwegian and perhaps Parsi and even her father's first language Swedish, from the earliest age): rather I think it is an artistic choice... she often drops consonsant sounds I think because for her the musical sound is most important...

I doubt it would even make it into my top 50 from her. For something completely different, incredibly cool, and maybe challlenging for any hardcore Michael Jackson fan - Her own and jazzy arrangement of Billie Jean! Thats Angelina showing off her best and most unique qualities 🌹Again, loved this and hope to see you both soon again!

Everytime a reactor starts with these Whitney covers they immediately don’t get Angelina, which I completely understand and never recommend these covers. She’s not a pop princess in the sense of this was sang as what it was “a cover”. She has over 200 videos and I can tell you that the other 198 videos that are not Whitney, Angelina takes the songs and does something you have never heard with them. If I were you, take a chance and go back to the beginning. She auditioned with Billie holiday’s gloomy Sunday when she was SEVEN at her country’s got talent show (Norways got talent) and followed up with a Sinatra song, and ended with SUMMERTIME. She won by the way, at 7. OR if you really want to see the damage she’s about to cause in the industry check out her performance from last year of Labyrinth’s MOUNT EVEREST recorded LIVE in July 2022. Once you see that, you’ll understand the hype. 🙏🏼🫶🏼

My understanding is this shop belongs to friends of the family, not Angelina's grandmother Mery Zamani. The way she "slides" on and "chops" some words is an artistic choice stemming from her jazz roots. Her English is flawless. Listening to her speak you'd think she was born and raised in middle America.
