So do get the name now? They are named Babymonster because they are all baby monsters. Like literally. They can all sing, they can all rap...ish, they can definitely all dance. And they all, for the most part, do all these things at a very high level. Oh and they're all beautiful. They also all happen to very young too, at ages 14, 15, 16, 17, 18 and 21. And this is all not counting their ace, Ahyeon, also 16, who was the most well rounded of the group-- who couldn't debut with them for health reasons.

They got introduced to the public as trainees at the beginning of 2023 through different solo and group live performances. So if you wanna get a better sense and analyze their voices, that would be a perfect way. The initial 7 solo live performances are only 1-2 minutes each. They also released an original pre debut song called "Dream" that was very vocal heavy and emotional, but reactions to that song tend to get blocked on KZbin. Their live performances and other content are safe for reactions. There are for example a lot of behind the scenes (into their training, monthly evaluations etc.) like individual introductions for each member (including statements from their trainers and vocal coaches) and the "Last Evaluation" series (including some mentoring from Blackpink). Everything is available on their KZbin. Lots of material to analyze from a vocal coach perspective.

Neither YG nor the group has ever announced any official "main" positions. Some fans are going around copying the Kprofiles list, which is just guesses by Kprofiles. Some other fans are going around just making up their own lists. These aren't official, so let's not keep repeating fake stuff. Obviously, they're all good. Rami seems to stand out the most. But with a strong vocal group like this, there is no need to rank them. It will often depend on each song and whose vocals are best for the song. There literally is no need for lists that permanently rank the members in positions. Asa and Ruka are obviously the rap line. The rest are the vocal line. But they won't be limited to only those specialties.

@@iwanticecream Yeah. There are no official main/lead/sub position rankings. Just some fans and some websites (like Kprofiles) are just making up their own lists and pretending that they're official. This is what they did to Blackpink too. YG doesn't usually rank each member and stick them with permanent main/lead/sub rankings. It's silly. YG would never need a list like that anyway because they already know from song to song who is best for the particular parts. YG just mentions specialties. For Blackpink: Jisoo, Jennie and Rose were announced as the vocal line. Lisa and Jennie were announced as the rap line. And Lisa was announced as also having a special dance role. Of course they do it all. The specialties just indicate what types of roles they mostly do in group songs. Nobody is ranked higher or lower than anyone else. All the arguing over the years about who is number 1 (main) and number 2 (lead) by fans was based on fake lists that got pushed everywhere in 2016 by dishonest fans and fans who just mistakenly repeated those lists.

3:22 The rappers Asa and Ruka have a lot of self-written pre-debut raps, some of which you can find on their channel from the Last Evaluation series. Asa also wrote her rap in their official debut song "Batter Up". The original version of this cover doesn't have a rap part, so it's possible Ruka and Asa wrote their raps here too, but we don't have credits for this.

From what i know, Asa Definitly writes her songs, she was the Rapper with the Ponytail and free shoulders tho, But the other Girls, not from what we know so far. Very refreshing to hear, and see, someone who understands vocal, and breathing control. **I noticed that you reacted to Rora's monthly evaluation... wonder if you have the time to checkout the other girls covers. This group is the first girl group that YG has debuted since BlackPink. (7years...). The different "colours and tones" or the members add to the strength of the group as a whole. As you said, makes them very versatile when it comes to writing, or selecting songs. The original song didn't have a rap verse... I would guess that they wrote them. (As others have mentioned, Asa has written rap sections before....even her own song/rap called Diary. Ruka has written lyrics too during her predebut days. Actually, BABYMONSTER was once a choice for BLACKPINK, but at that time YG entertainment (their music company) finally chose BLACKPINK as the group name for JISOO, JENNIE,ROSE,LISA( they are 3rd generation KPop) Then finally on the next girl group project YG chose the name BABYMONSTER for their next GG ,And BABYMONSTER has a meaning that can be concluded from their age/body which looks small but their talents are like MONSTERS for kpop groups Yeahh as you know and see, babymonster members is very talented (It's hard to find GG KPop like this now, how each member has different vocals but doesn't bring each other down,like honestly each member can be MAIN vocal/rap/dancer....) Because usually in KPop groups you will only see one/two who is good at singing, dancing or rapping, but BM is different, each member has a difficult talent.
