yep, there's people saying she is bad live and she got too much support and yes, there is some backing track vocals to support her but she is permanently singing live over it, except for the chorus "mo mo mo mo" part, but if she doesn't sing over it, she also dooesn't have her microphone near her mouth, so it's not lip synced. The amount of talent this girl has is amazing and incredible...she'll go far! 🥰🥰

Chanel is great but they indeed had the backing vocals pretty high on the mix to help her sound more stable. That said i have no issue with it since she clearly can sing and is moving alot.

So as to be able to do what you have seen, she has trained like an olimpic athlete. She trained the singing while running. The first time she tried she could only sing 30 seconds. Now it seems incredible someone can do something like that. A queen is born.

She is a trained dancer and musical theatre singer since she was 16 years old, so that´s why she can be so stable while hitting all the dance moves, even if this song is not that hard vocally, but the choreo its so good and intense, she was working as the main caracter of the musical whitney houston "the bodyguard" here in spain this last years, she is well known in the theatre world, but not on mainstream media, but i hope that changes soon, cause she is a hard working woman and really really talented! She allegedly trained for a really long time before this performance by running on a treadmill in 10 inch heels whilst doing vocal exercises and signing at the same time. She worked hard for that win, she absolutely deserved it.

I can confirm😉 The treadmill and wrists+ankles weights are a must for cardio endurance. And whenever we need to harden the level, we do the choreo on 15cm wedge heels and rubber bands strategically tied. The difficult thing is not to fly when you take all the stuff off😅 🧛🏻‍♀️🖤

Chanel is an actress and trained dancer and singer with a successful carreer in musicals (Whole package artist). lyp sync/autotune are NOT allowed in Eurovision, her job singing and dancing is just amazing because she's training everyday to have a perfect performance.

I watched her live in Bodyguard the musical in Madrid 2018. I was speechless. Every song she was amazing singing. And now she is getting the opportunity she deserves. The fact she is Cuban make me love her even more. You can feel that only a Cuban (or a Brazilian) can dance and move like that. She is amazing. It's funny how you mention she reminds you of Camila Cabello, because that was my reaction as well. It's interesting to note that Chanel was born in Cuba, just as Camila Cabello was. 10/10 This performance has the best choreography we have ever seen in eurovision. Perfectly executed and singing at the same time. The beat is catchy as hell, she is sexy and charismatic while doing all this. Amazing. Gold 🥇. We haven't seen yet a true Latino track in eurovision. It’s been a controversial result of the festival because she was the third favourite of the viewers. However, nobody would deny that she’s killing it. Singing live with back up vocals recorded. Following the rules. It’s our best ESC entry in years and I’m sure she’ll do very well in Turin. She’s had 20 years of experience singing and dancing in several musicals. A top 10 is in the bag. (And I didn’t vote Chanel as I’ve got another favourite song but let’s be honest..she slayed the performance) Vamos Chanel!

I think you should check out Tanxugueiras, they sung at the same contest as Chanel. Either their live performance in the grand final or any of their old videos singing a capella. They sing traditional Galician music and I love how their voices harmonize...

As an audio designer/composer/singer- songwriter I know this is live singing because: she sometimes breathes into the mic, she hypes up the public way too precisely, her body/ lip sync match the voice 1:1, the voice vs audio mix (the audio mix is a lot clearer and brighter), the slight distortion in her mic, the reverb of a big room like this, when she pulls away her mic you can hear her voice softly move into the background as she moves the mic further away. There's a few more things that make it obvious this is live, but these are probably the main ones you can pay attention to if you don't know what to look for. Also it is mandatory to sing live at the final performance, so she couldn't even do that even if she wanted to. There's an obvious difference between good singing and a studio production. This is just good singing. The thing you're right about is: Her voice gets some help from the backing vocals. Though, she is just very fit and hits the notes very precisely.

I've voted for Tanxugueiras, since their lyrics was about no borders, and people who moved to Europe already belonging us. They sang in gallego, a language that is in a process of recovery.
