Seems to me something is wrong with Philippines , must be the water or something ! LOL Half of their population is singing ! That kid should be close to age now for his voice to change . Adam I haven't seen a single artist from the Philippines that he is a baritone , mostly they are either alto , or tenors ! I am telling you if this continues in that rate soon they will change the word "talented" from the vocabularies and place "Filipino" instead !!!! LOL No I am totally enjoying it so far , they are lovely , friendly people , they love music , they never miss a change to join karaoke and its a blast !

Mr. Mishan, I totally agree with all what you said and it's true, specially you feel he is a little bit shaking when he is saying 1-2-3. But, i think he is one of the a few guys who grounds and hits CHAN-DE-LI-ER with chest voice which harder to do even for a professional singer. And from all covers i have heard so far, he is the only who switched from the belting to falsetto effortlessly in this song.

JC E ; am sorry but there’s nothing is wrong with Darren’s voice ever !!! All of those people can criticize or try to analyze his voice but their not gonna find any wrong with his voice or style of his voice ... His just perfect the way he is period .... Darren’s have gotten over 50 music awards now and his very papular in the world .... Keep on singing Darren and we just love you the way you are period.....

Lol FYI he has been already coached by the judges of The Voice Kids Philippines on that age. He wasn't pitchy he was using vibrato whike using the lower notes sad to say not all these critiques are always right like they're on that high level judge or mentor. Sad to say but maybe Darren can mentor you even more. He's already good on that age stop making conclusions if you don't know the artist.

God it's really hard to switch on Falsetto...I have a really high falsetto than a normal puberty strucked 15 year old boy but I can't really sing without being like oh someone will hear me so I'll just do a small chipmunk high voice using falsetto and make up works so it's like Iam only joking and not actually singing which is kinda hard as I can't really do that much

He's just i dunno 14 or 15 here, we can't expect him to be technically perfect. This was a stellar performance from a very talented young singer. Anyway, Filipino singers are mostly self-thought, so we can't expect a Lea Salonga-ish pitch perfection.

I totally agree with what you are saying about him using his chest voice and his head voice. Now I learned how to use my head voice from my high school choir teacher, you have to use your diaphragm to really belt out those high notes, otherwise its just singing, or rather screaming if you only use your chest. It's not easy to do, but with practice, you can reach those higher notes, and have your notes resonate like Darren is doing with those high notes.
