Check out Darren singing the Phantom of The Opera theme at the Aces concert. He was probably 17 then. More recently he did a duet with Calum Scott called Heaven. He's another Filipino gem. He grew up in Canada but I think He's currently back in the Philippines.

I know this is about Darren, but I can't help but notice when Mori comes in, even people like you can't help but smile. The reaction is visceral. Even professionals are in awe. I watched a reaction last night where a pro female vocalist saw her for the first time and her mouth dropped open about three notes in, and didn't close during the whole time. She is so special. Some comments allude to "Chandelier" where she allows him to shine. Check it out.

Darren is sheer talent and God given gift! Was the highest earning child singer in the Philippines. Have grown up to sing all genres including opera and musicals such as Phantom of the Opera etc. Has also become a heartthrob among the young and old as well!

Darren's video singing Chandelier was taken down years ago. It was the 1st Wish Bus video to become virsl back in 2016..They were just a small new radio station then. Reactors reacting to Korean & Indian artists discovered the Wish Bus at that time. A copy of Chandelier was uploaded by a fan channel so u can check that out. He & Morisette later did a duet of Chandelier during the Wish awards show.

He's now 22 (about 14 in the second video, 18 in the first) and has the full range of both these videos plus. I believe the breathy lows in the first video were deliberate as he can sing those clear. Two videos to check out are his medley of This Is Me/Con Te Partiro/Phantom (both parts) and his Believe in Christmas video. In the medley he is able to change out genres easily. In the Christmas one, he shows almost his full range. He was born in Canada and at 13 participated in Voice Kids in the PH, came in second, but stayed there to hone his talent and never looked back. BIG star in PH. Maybe even bigger than Morissette, but at least equal. They had the same coaches so do a number of collabs.

The Philippines is a gold mine of wildly talented yet immensely underrated singers. They don’t get enough recognition from the West imho, majority of them have 10x more vocal talent than the most popular American singers but they somehow still remain under the radar. Morisette will always be one of my favorites, but I didn’t know much about Darren (my only experience with him was from seeing the first video a few months ago) so this was really interesting. Disney got Darren and Mori to sing for their film A Whole New World in the Philippine screening and was asked to do near-same pitch as the classic, that explains why both leveled their rendition to the original which was also sang by Filipina Lea Salonga (also the singing voice Mulan in Disney's Reflection. But good that Darren maintained his high range and can even do a stunning whistle in this cover of Phantom of the Opera with two other lady soprano divas live and another one again, with Morisette and please react to that, thank you. Morissette Amon and Klarisse de Guzman auditioned for The Voice Philippines in 2013, Espanto and Lyca Gaironod (winner 🏆) for the Kids version in 2014. Zephanie Dimaranan followed in 2015. I love learning about new singers on your channel. His performance as a teen totally crazy! I checked his most recent official release out of curiosity and after listening to this one, it was rather disappointing (very k-pop-ish I'd say).
