Delta Lea Goodrem is an Australian singer, songwriter, and actress. Goodrem signed to Sony Music at the age of 15. Her debut album, Innocent Eyes (2003), topped the ARIA Albums Chart for 29 non-consecutive weeks. It is one of the highest-selling Australian albums and is the second-best-selling Australian album of all time with over four million copies sold
Geoffrey Gurrumul Yunupingu commonly known as Gurrumul and also referred to since his death as Dr G. Yunupingu was an Aboriginal Australian musician of the Yolŋu peoples. A multi-instrumentalist, he played drums, keyboards, guitar (a right-hand-strung guitar played left-handed) and didgeridoo, but it was the clarity of his singing voice that attracted rave reviews. He sang stories of his land both in Yolŋu languages such as Gaalpu, Gumatj or Djambarrpuynu, a dialect related to Gumatj, and in English.
"Bayini" is a song by Australian singer-songwriter Gurrumul Yunupingu, who was a blind Indigenous musician from Elcho Island in the Northern Territory. The song is sung in Yolngu Matha, a language spoken by the Yolngu people of Arnhem Land. The song was originally released on Gurrumul's second album, Rrakala, in 2011. It is a spiritual song that expresses the connection between the land, the sea and the sky, and the ancestral beings that created them. The song was also included on Gurrumul's third album, The Gospel Album, in 2015.

Don't know when this was recorded, or when you reviewed it. Doc died of diabetes a few years back. He was totally blind from birth. He never had lessons for guitar or voice. He played a right handed guitar upside upside down, as he was left handed. He could only write songs about things he could touch, smell or hear. He is referred to now as Doc, because it is very impolite to refer to a deceased indigenous person by their 'living' name. He,was awarded a Doctorate of Music by the University of Wisconsin during a tour of the USA. His untimely death was a national tragedy.Thank you for offering this song on your channel.

She has learned so much, MUCH better, she was always good, and you can hear the potential all the way back on her first album. But I think she's learned control - and also a bit of 'life' - she's had some real challenges to overcome, and that can give a vocalist something that can't be taught. You probably know @thatsingerreactions - Delta is one of his favourite female singers of all time - she has a phenomenal voice but also a phenomenal story, having battled cancer in her early years and more recently having lost her voice/speech after throat surgery - she had to relearn how to talk and sing.

Gurrumul is blind and his father found an old guitar and brought it home for him. Being blind he didnt know which way to hold it so he in fact plays the guitar upside down. He is a true inspiration who has sadly passed away.

Yep, incredible, the Believe Again vid is sensational, I can't think of any that are better, it complemented the song beautifully. A very composed and controlled performance. Also Delta, Wings, the Voice, that's a banger. Would also love to see Beth react to Claudia Harrison, the Voice Australia, blonde surfer girl, no singing training at all, 18 years old, wanders in barefoot, sings O Mio Babbino Caro, it's sensational AND funny. And it's TWO songs to critique, for Beth to get her teeth into, the judges demanded another!

Keep in mind that 50% of aboriginal Aussies have some form of hearing damage. Otitis media is part of life for some communities. So when you listen to Australian languages you'll hear a lot of low frequencies, the higher frequencies are just a supplement. The languages from this man's area will be quite easy to sing, with very few F S H sounds.

It's OK, not everyone "gets" music. Some people struggle to see colour, a few are dyslexic, 10% are left handed and some just don't get music. 50% of people are below average intelligence, that's how averages work. I'm sure you will have your own strengths.
