A very underappreciated song by Disturbed is called Darkness. It's a slower song and David sings all clean vocals. It's similar to the style of Sound of Silence.

In 2000 I saw Disturbed at Ozzfest and we all went crazy in the mosh pit, it was such a good show. So when I was waiting for Kittie to get on stage, the lead singer of Disturbed came out and started shaking my hand. I didn't even know who he was at first until I recognized his double piercings. He said he was so impressed by my moshing that he had to come out and find me to tell me so, and luckily I was right up front holding on to the fence exhausted from the show. I've seen a lot of metal bands live and the crowd rarely goes as wild as I saw it that day.

I truly appreciate your channel. So many vocal coaches (or people in general) will dismiss Hard Rock or Metal music as being just loud noise with singers that just scream. You actually recognize the technical skills and talent that go into singing in these genre but more so than that you are a fan. Your eyes, smile and face lights up and when it's a particularly heavy tune you'll even frown and snarl. I gladly hit the pit with you at a gig anytime.

He epitomizes what hard rock is vocally. Draimen's latest hit "Dead Inside" with Nita Strauss is absolutely INCREDIBLE! it stood at #1 on the rock charts for weeks, and made history for Nita. So worth the watch! Bonus is no swearing. lol

We sometimes forget that some of singing comes from the very soul and projects to the mechanics. If you truly feel it, you will produce it. Also, the lyrics. There was a powerful meaning to this song. It’s actually sad.

There are So Many Amazing songs by Disturbed. There's heavy hard rocking songs like Indestructible Conflict The Game The Amimal, to name a few (there's So many more though), then there's deeper songs like The Light and My Child then there's soft and deep like The Sound of Slience and A Reason to Fight( I recommend watching the live version of that song although the music video was amazing) and Hold On To Memories.

While we're looking at good singers in metal bands, I'd highly recommend you take a look at Warrel Dane's performance of Sentient 6 by Nevermore. There's a great quality video of a live performance on youtube. He trained for five years as an opera singer, he had an amazing range and dynamics and a great sense of drama about his singing. I think you'd appreciate his approach to the craft.

Ahh man, did the video cut off for you before he could do the, "Say our name with us; one time now..."? That sucks because it is powerful. The dood knows how to work a crowd. Not like Freddy -- I don't think anyone ever will -- but it is powerful and the energy is palpable nonetheless.
