I reccomend that you should react to the lyrics version after the MV so that you could know who's singing, names of the members and what is the content of the song and I guess that'll make you understand the video more.... But still some Exo MVs are still a mystery to me.... But I guess that The MV showed that in a relation in which everything was messed up in the beginning(messed up yarn and the man wrapped in rope) and that's why all the members where sad but at the end they solved everything(the one thread left) as that's how everything is supposed to be in a relationship and all the members became happy and smiling ..... The rope... I don't pretend to be the best analyzer, so I'll just do it in terms of what was seen in the MV and you can make your own conclusions... At the start they were all sad and alone and they were tied up and there were knots (symbols). Then before the last chorus Suho shared the coffee with Chanyeol and then they started singing together. Then you see that they all started smiling while having coffee and talking together at the table, and the ropes that kept them tied up were cut. Lastly, the rope was untangled and the chaotic scribbles just became an uncomplicated straight stroke. There hehe!

I also love them because they do a lot of things within their songs. Honesty time... There are a couple of groups that I love for their bright personalities and funny TV appearances, but I find it difficult to get into their music because often the title tracks have the same sound in terms of the choruses - that is, they're always falsetto choruses. Probably not a real term, but it is a thing with some groups... and maybe it's just my brain's preference but I feel like I get a twitch of irritation with such sounds. Plus a lot of them don't take advantage of the fact that they are in groups of more than 5 people... They don't harmonize or try to blend and they rely a lot on the instrumentals to fill the track. I think the group status is more to be able to deliver dance performances than to create more layers in the music. I still love them but I wish they'd try other things more.

The knot represents problem. Tangled yarn and getting tied to it is them finding ways on how to solve the problem and be free from what the norm is telling them what to do. Coffee represents happiness. You can see the yarn forming an EXO logo (hexagon is exo's logo). Lots of coffee on the table but still they aint look happy meaning they have been given lots of things that could make them happy but still they feel empty. Bec they are looking for someone, searching the universe to find that one. Coffee aint complete without creamer. When they found all the ingredients they looked happy. Finding the right one will make them feel complete. Again all of their winter album releases are ballad. Wolf, Monster, Kokobop, Mama are some of their title tracks

MV MESSAGE This mv may look like starbucks advertisement in kpop style but the main message is not to give up. Even if the life is messed up, it may seem like a knot that cannot be untied u still need to go through universe and try your best to succeed. They showed it through coffee and knots and art. When they messed up coffee several times, by adding too much sugar, or cream, or water. But even if it was dissapointing-they tried again and again until the well done coffee was suggested at the end and they started smiling again- even though they looked sad at the beginning.

I know it's long but please read it! Since i only see requests here, let me explain why they're so good. Before debuting in 2012, all the members trained in a big company called SM Entertainment as "trainees", being a trainee is really tough, you have dance and singing lessons for more of 16 hours a day (i think there's instruments, rap and korean for foreigners too) and they can train for more of 6 years just to debut! There's trainees that don't live in Seoul or Korea so they have to move to the company's dorm and live with another trainees. If you want to debut, you have to be talented, know how to sing (even rappers), dance and have a good looking, if you're not a natural born, then you got plastic and skin care, things like this. The worst thing is that even big companies like SM treat the idols like slaves in their contract, I can't counter on my fingers how many times EXO got injuried by physical exhaustation. Three members left the group, the chinese ones and they filed lawsuits against the company, but because SM is so powerful, it was worthless. EXO had a lot of struggles to keep the group, in their debut they were called "SM's first failure", their slogan is "We Are One" but three members left (and tbh I think they are better on their soloist careers). Of course there were happy moments too, things to get proud of. They're the Nation's Pick, their song Growl became the National Anthem and they performed on the Pyeongchang Olympics, they're quintuple million sellers and the fastest group to sell concert tickets in 0.4 seconds. I know you're just reacting to their music as a vocal coach, but can you please check out some fan made videos about their story? Like "EXO IS FAMILY", "EXO-L IS EXO'S FAMILY" AND "WHY EXO IS THE NATION'S PICK". Thank you, sorry for the long text.

You people never miss a chance to badmouthing a great company who is feeding the industry with wonderful artists for decades. SM having a dungeon in the dorms and torturing the candidates is the best selling kink of the fanfics of the industry. Shame on you! Do you think all these groups can form themselves in such an admirable way of they didn’t work hard? Do you think that any company could be sustainable if they don’t share revenue during the times the groups earn money? They work like a academy/factory. Everything spend on EXO was earned over Super Junior, Shinee and TQ, and now EXO is supporting NCT and Red Velvet. Can you imagine what might be the cost of an album to SM? Do you think all those beautiful songs are growing on SM dungeons’ walls? There may be two reasons to your argument: you are either a hater that can’t say bad things about Exo because they are amazing, and try to hurt their pride by saying they are slaves. Or worst; you are a senseless brat who’s fooled by a Chinese traitor who wanted everything for himself and lied to get rid of the contract after he made name within EXO. Whichever the reason, shame on you for forcing the “slaves” image for these wonderful, loyal, hardworking young men.
