Wild West was utter drivel that's why. Into the Atmosphere was good, but equally as "bland" as Scared of Heights

Totally agree. Wild Wild West was really different and the staging was already really cool. I would have loved to see it on the Eurovision stage. Oh well. Iceland is definitely not going to win with the song they selected. Oh well. 🤷‍♂️

Listen to her singing this in Icelandic. Somehow seems better, the vocals ans the vibe alike. E.g. instead of coming theres hearra and the sound r gives the phrase more edge.

As an Icelander, I like this song. Hera is also just such an amazing vocalist and performer. This was 100% live and while this definitely wasn't her best, I've seen her live and she's SO good. The Icelandic broadcaster is also known for fucking up the sound quite a bit. It's sad how people in Iceland particularly have been sending her horrible messages for taking part in the contest. In the Icelandic national final, the song in second place was sung by a guy from Palestine (who has worked with Hatari) and lots of people who had planned to boycott supported him. Then he lost, there were questions about whether there was an error in the voting (which there was but not enough to change the results) and people started boycotting again. I don't really wanna get into the situation but I hate how people are completely missing the point of ESC. It's supposed to unite people through music IN SPITE of what is happening in the world. It's absolutely horrific what is happening now (though it's not as one-sided as the media would have you believe) but just because you compete in a song competition doesn't mean you support "genocide".

That is true, and a very mature way of looking at it, but you can't remove politics from the contest. We've had entries being very political before, even winning the contest. My worry is that something will happen at the ESC, like a stage invader or protest getting a little out of control.

I intend to vote for Hera in protest to this situation. She has received a lot of hate from her compatriots, which was undeserved. I don't think that the "Palestinian" song was either. He only got to no2 because of his ethnicity.

I don't agree with what Putin and the Russian government has been doing but I don't think the general public should be punished for that, or potential artists. I can’t get over the fact this sounds so much like James Newman - Embers. How did nobody see that as a problem? I adored Je Ne Sais Quoi. She’s an amazing vocalist, and such a nice person. But this song really isn’t it.

I think Iceland is competing for last place this year in the whole contest with Moldova. Both are two of the most hated songs in the contest with stagings people don't like. This is a year where the new artists are outshining the returning artists.
