Yes! You got it right the first time, you need to WATCH the final product. Go check out the live version with John and Tori. If you search "Jacob John Tori" here on youtube it's guaranteed to be the first result. THAT is the "final version" you should react to... EVERYTHING about that video is a masterclass. Tori obviously did learn to do this live, she's been playing it on her own tour for the last couple of months, and she beefed up the runs and changed the phrasing a bit to make it even more powerfully evocative than the album recorded version, but as hard as it is to imagine, the version she does live with Jacob and John is even more insane than her already more insane version! Would love to see your reaction to it!

Oh don't you worry, we're with you on this Jacob deepdive :) The best thing is, every time it's something new and different, he doesn't really have his one spiel he goes to by default (well... other than blowing you away with his sense of musicality)

Thank you for this, I can’t wait for your future reactions to his work including the album version of this and the live performance (they’re both worth it 100%). Not to overwhelm you with suggestions, but Hideaway is a great, very intricate yet also so simple, piece from his “earlier” works. I usually recommend it to newer listeners of his content

If you would like to listen to a male vocalist (who is an extremely talented pianist/keyboard player in Dirty Loops) check out Jonah Nilsson “Hit me” , “Rock me” or “Breakdown”. He possesses a voice that is out of this world (and they are managed by Quincy Jones).
