4:36 the Story about this song? Both Albums, Epica (Faust I) and The Black Halo (Faust II), basically cover the story of Goethe's Faust I & II. The Haunting (Somewhere in Time) is about Ariel and a girl named Marguerite. Everyone who's familiar to the Epica story line knows that Ariel lost his love Helena and one day he comes across a girl who reminds him of her, named Marguerite. She seduces him and he almost falls in love with her but just in time he realizes that he only loves her because of her resemblance with Helena. So he refuses to love her (at the moment) But he also promises to return one day, when his quest has ended and he found peace of mind - then he might love her again.

The first comment is actually right. You should check the album's story, Hannah.. Ariel is still stricken with grief and sorrow over Helena's death. (March of Mephisto) With Ariel's will nearly under Mephisto's total control, the fallen angel brings Ariel a beautiful young woman named Marguerite, who looks and speaks like Helena. Ariel seduces Marguerite and the two sleep together, which completes Mephisto's manipulation of Ariel. (When the Lights are Down) The morning after, Ariel regains his memory, breaking Mephisto's control over him, and comes to his senses. He apologizes to Marguerite and explains his story, begging her to leave, but saying that they might meet again someday. (The Haunting (Somewhere in Time)

Little context on the song Rebecca, the album it's from (2005's The Black Halo) is the second concept album and sequel to 2003's Epica album, both albums tell the tale of Faust. The Black Halo tells the second half when the main character Ariel (Kamelot lead singer Roy Khan) sells his soul to the devil Mephisto (played by Dimmu Borgir frotman Shagrath). As for this song (track 3), Simone Simons from Epica plays the character Marguerite, who resembles Ariel's dead lover Helena (played and sung by Kamelot guitarist Thomas Youngblood's wife, Mari Youngblood). The song is about Marguerite meeting Ariel and despite knowing she look exactly like his dead love, he'll never be able to love her.

Kamelot is probably my second most favorite band :) For me it is like male fronted Nightwish :D even if their styles are different it gives me the same feelings :) and as with Nightwish I say, just pick any of their songs, you cant go wrong :) especially from this live show called "One Cold WInter's Night"

Yes, Rebecca! That IS Simone Simmons from Epica. You did a reaction to her and Floor Jansen from Nightwish goofing around on stage at the TErra Sancta show a while back. She happens to be married to Kamelot's keyboard player, Oliver Palotai. I think you would absolutely LOVE Kamelot.

Roy Khan feels the music more than any other singer. Check out Kamelot's performance of the Elizabeth trilogy from the same concert. It's phenomenal stuff.

I’d love to see you react to Within Temptation performing Somewhere (live). It’s another beautiful duet with female symphonic metal singers.

Roy Khan is a GOD, he is probably my favourite male vocalist. I do miss him not being in Kamelot anymore, so much.. but now he's back with another band called Conception. :) Another you should check out sung by Khan is Kamelot - The Edge of Paradise Live... that falsetto though!

That was from the 2006 concert DVD, "One Cold Winters Night", you really should do a reaction video to the song, " Moonlight", from the same DVD, trust me, you will not regret it!

This was the first song I heard of them. I immediately bought the album the next day. His vocal has a Queensryche feel to me

The song was originally recorded for the album with Simone. Kamelot and Epica are related. Epica took its name from a Kamelot album and Simone is married to Kamelot keyboarder Oliver Palotai. Also Roy Khan, singer in the video (Kamelot former singer) sang in two Epica songs. Troies Vierges from Consign to Oblivion and White Waters from Design Tour Universe. Not the best Epica songs but they're good.

Yes! It's cheesy but awesome. And Yannis is one of the few really great new singers in metal, and he is in part influenced by Roy Khan too.

YES! I cant remember if I requested this here but Kamelot and particularly Roy Khan are fuckin amazing. If you want to do more of him, check out Elizabeth pt 1,2,3 from this same show. Its absolutely insane

"What's the story about" you ask? This song is on their album *The Black Halo* which is a concept album heavily inspired by Goethe's *Faust* , so pretty much that ;) The Black Halo is the 2nd album of that story. The first one is called *Epica* (and yes, there is also the band Epica, which indeed has Simone on lead vocals :)).

You should also mention that the band got their name from that album haha

RHAPSODY OF FIRE Fabio Lione is the male version of tarja and Floor. From the lowest to the higuest. Gifted - LAMENTO EROICO at Wacken 2011 (súper low) - EMERALD SWORD & GRAND FINALE (súper high) - ON THE WAY TO AINOR (low+high+growl) He is outrageous (and has a little Robert Plant look ;))
