The thing about Lana is that she’s a story teller. She’s not always going to give you high belts and fancy vocals but what she will do is make you feel what she’s feeling. She’s always said that she’s a writer first and a singer second. There’s just something really special about her, she’s very awkward, cute and humble which is so rare to see nowadays. She’s not trying to make hits or top charts, she just genuinely loves to write and sing

Lana's voice has evolved a lot, she is not the same as in her beginnings, even her lyrics have improved, now she has a peculiar originality, even she has said that she doesn't even like many lyrics of her past or how much she was nervous on stage. Now she is a strong and self-confident singer. Thank you very much for reacting to Lana, without a doubt together with Taylor are the best songwriters of today, we are waiting for more of your reactions to Lana del rey

I kinda like that she kept those pitchy moments in the studio version. She (and people working with her) obviously knew about them and decided to keep it that way intentionally. She’s even said about this song specifically that she likes the vocals there. 🙂 This might be a controversial decision, but the song sounds more human and vulnerable. Also, it rejects the expectations of having to be perfect. It’s like she’s telling her haters: “I don’t give a damn and I can sing off tune on my album if I want to. What are you gonna do?”

A fun fact is that in 2011/2012 Lana appeared for the first time on a live program and suffered a panic crisis as the media had been attacking her for weeks. That's why Lana never performed live again. It was not until the end of last year / beginning of this year that Lana returned to do a presentation on tv after almost 9 years, of course they are pre-recorded presentations because she still has anxiety singing live. But as a fan of hers, I am so proud that she is overcoming her fears little by little. Great video!! Greetings from Venezuela!

@@mazzymoon2612 true, however: Taylor said that Lana was one of the most influential artist in pop music over the last decade, and inspired her at some point of her career; Lorde’s Royals / Pure Heroin was supposed to provide with a counter model to Lana’s Born to Die; Billie said that Lana was like a mother to her and artists of her generation. All in all, Taylor, Lorde, and Billie absolutely do not owe their career to Lana, they are talented artists by themselves; but Lana did influence them to some extent. They kept destroying her in her entire career, pounding her with criticism and more criticism, it really makes someone really self-conscious. So the fact she is still persevering in her career is an attestation of her will and power to continue doing what she does. And as fans, because of these criticisms, we lost her. She has an empathic soul, and each time the world closes on her, she retreats into her shell, locks her social media and goes MIA. We need more kindness toward artists, man.
