I super agree that the charm point of Drivers License, and honestly Olivia's voice in general, is the vulnerability. She's so talented with her use of breath support & utilizing the different vocal techniques she's capable of. That paired with the lyrics makes the songs seem like diary entries talking to you, talking to any pain you've felt whether or not it's strictly about a breakup. The first time I heard this bridge I burst into tears, having never been in a serious relationship before. And then I listened to the song on repeat for an hour. That kind of connection we can all feel together through music regardless of experience or language or age, that's what makes art such a meaningful part of being human.
