I feel like everyone that has covered this song either changes the song too much or they don't change it at all/add their own style. Brendon is the first time I've ever seen someone cover with SLIGHT alterations for their style and it worked beautifully.

exactly my thought. I'm not a Queen fan, far from it, but I can recognize a masterpiece when I hear one, and Bohemian Rhapsody is clearly a masterpiece, so I don't the point of re-doing something already perfect as it is. But I have to say that he managed to make the song it's own, and that was quite impressive and beautiful to hear.

I think one factor that not enough people take into account is Freddie's legendary showmanship. Even if you change the song a bit and make it your own, if you bring this level of showmanship, it's a success.

I’m a HUGE Queen fan and I thought this cover was amazing! Super impressive. Brendon did a great job keeping with the style of the original but also making it his own. Freddie would have just been tickled pink if he heard this cover. Thanks for reacting to it. You should react to Queen- Dreamer’s Ball Live 3/1/79. It’s not a well known Queen song but it’s an acoustic version. It’s a blues inspired song Brian May wrote. I think you’d love it.

I was able to see him perform this live (sadly from the nosebleed seats), and this man can pump up the entire place, no matter how far away he is! He was literally born for the soul purpose of sharing his gift with us all, and you can tell he enjoys every moment of it! (by the way, he streams on Twitch and quite frequently breaks out into song. wow, in this song, he definitely is channeling a bit of a Jeff Buckley tone -- his airiness and falsetto are insane --- there are not even remnants of his punk staccato musical stylings -- not how I would have pictured him singing this incredibly difficult song -- his range is so much bigger than I thought -- thanks for sharing
