The original Charlie Price in Kinky Boots (Stark Sands) was nominated for a Tony for that role, Brendon was not considered because he wasn't eligible four years later. He DID win a Broadway.com Audience Choice Award for Favorite Male Replacement in a musical for his work in Kinky Boots in 2017, but not a Tony. That's because he's so used to singing at this point, that it's become muscle memory. Believe me, there was a lot of learning and hard work that went into it before then.

One of the more incredible things about Brendon- watching vocal coaches react to him breaking down these little techniques and nuances he has and does, is that he doesn't even realize half the time these are actual things, actual techniques. He just does what feels comfortable. He's said that while watching a video of a vocal coach reacting to him on twitch. I think is a testament to how talented he is.

I've heard Brendon refer to that as his "goat vibrato" and it's one of the more distinctive features of his voice, to me. I can always tell when a Panic! song comes on because he does it in almost every single track they've ever produced. Also 12:30 SAME GIRL, SAME. Seeing you fangirl a little is adorable, I think we've all been there.
@jennawhite54665 жыл бұрын
Edit - 12:30 - The defense rests, your honor. I love Brendon Urie’s voice. Whether he is singing originals by him or covering others, his chameleon vocal ability never stops pleasing. My favorite vocal color for him has to be his jazz style, when he channels his Frank Sinatra voice. ‘Death of a Bachelor’ is a prime example of that color to his voice.
@jaya56925 жыл бұрын
Brendon has reacted to the best live vocals on his twitch channel. And for his Girls/Girls/Boys acoustic performance he was sick. So that may be the reason that he is a little sharp and flat on some notes. But seriously, what a great performance when you're sick.

Personally I like the hard 'rrr's in Girls/Girls/Boys rather than the 'hhh's you suggested; I like the fact that I can hear him pushing his voice so hard. It makes the song sound sweeter, more emotional, more desperate. It adds more complexity/nuance and enhances the meaning, therefore it's the superior choice for this particular song.

One of my favourite things about his singing is that his voice is part of the music. Hes not just telling you the story/context of the song, his voice is part of the band. I find that male vocalists dont use their voice this way that often. I mean his range is ridiculous and rare but still, it's so clever how he uses it as part of the melody as well as singing the lyrics.

I loved watching you react to this. Brendon Urie is one of my favorite vocalists. Panic isn't just pop... he does songs that range from Sinatra-sounding to pop to rock to the screamy-fry thing that female metal vocalist you recently reacted to does. He calls it hardcore, and has done a lot of vines under the self-given title of Positive Hardcore Thursday, or whatever day of the week it was. He's got a crazy ability to move through so many genres while still sounding identifiable- I can always tell it's him. Except for hardcore, that all sounds the same to my old ears! lol His vibrato makes me laugh... in an interview posted on Globe.com he said this about it: “When I was a kid, I wanted to sound like Gwen Stefani. So, I started to do a vibrato thing with my voice and long enough, I couldn’t get rid of it. It’s kind of why I do this “goat thing” with my voice.” Kinda goes to show, habits are really hard to break!

Hello, Tara. It's been a while since a Dimash analysis, and he's recently delivered his most epic live vocal performance yet. The composition was written specifically for his vocal capabilities by the same composer (Igor Krutoy) whose composition "Love is Like a Dream" you loved so much. This one is almost pure opera; a cantata for 4 voices (two male and two female) in 5 octaves. Like you, I'm a big fan of Dimash's baritone, and in this composition it has never sounded better, fuller, richer, deeper, and darker. The best video of the performance is, unfortunately, a fancam. But I think you can overlook that to give us the first truly professional vocal analysis of what we're actually hearing in this song. Of all the youtube vocal "coaches", you've always given the most accurate and complete analysis of Dimash's vocals. Please, please do this one. The song is "Ogni Pietra" and here's the link: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bpyUcnuDrdZgZsk
