Her name is Shila Amzah, she's not from China but a Malay ethnic from Malaysia. She went into China market around 10 + years ago entering some singing competitions trying to create a market and branding for herself and she did achieve millions of followers, much more than what she could achieve back in Malaysia in such a short time. What's more amazing was Shila learned Chinese language (Mandarin) while in the midst of those competitions as usually 99.99% Malay people usually do not know Chinese language in Malaysia but fluent with English though. She's not at the levels of singers like Zhou Shen and many other top tier Chinese singers you reacted to but she's smart and dares to try breaking into Chinese market. She's now back to Malaysia but occasionally being sought after in China for some events. I know these detailed information because I'm a Malaysian who followed her some years when she was in China.

Don't mind the comments coach. You're telling the truth, Shila sang the song, to match her vocal range and technique, obviously she can't go higher like your vocal range, but she's actually doing a great job for not copying the OG and present the song in her own rendition.

I watch many singers trying to sing like original. You can sing original in karaoke but its a damn competition, you should put your "mark" and originality that makes you different than original singer. Whatever your opinion is, i think shila makes a great decision to sing her own version. Thats makes her performance "unforgettable" untill this moment.

She is the intersection between western and eastern. I do love Beyonce, but not everyone in Asia appreciates Beyonce's way of singing songs. I think that's why her version is less powerful. I have no doubt she could make it, but for Asian audiences, that's a friendly version.

Why is everyone getting so butt hurt in the comment section? Rozette in no way bashing Shila’s singing ability, she’s only criticizing her way of interpreting the song. Which, if you have seen the movie and pay attention to the lyrics of the song, it should be sang the way like Beyoncé. In the movie, Jamie Foxx is a player and he’s been manipulating Beyoncé and JHud, so this song coming from Beyoncé as she’s had enough of his bs and she wants him to “LISTEN” to her for once. So, the way Shila presenting this song is meh, and tbh she did chunky many parts of this song, just so she can showcase her vocal abilities. She can sing for sure but she didn’t present well in this song.

雖然我很欣賞西拉的歌聲，但我能理解老師。 像另一位網民說的，這首歌通常用來表現無敵高超的技巧，但西拉選了這首歌，在編曲和曲風上也沒做太大改變，卻在很多最難的位置，選用一些對行內人來說比較低端的技巧迴避了每個難度。 我以前上聲樂課也特別去學這首，所以特別了解這首歌每個細節。我同樣在每一個讓老師鄒眉頭的部分小失望。因為這首歌很顯然是超出西拉的音域，所以她在很多高難度的位置來回閃避。 我覺得西拉的聲音有她自己的魅力，這首歌不是最適合她的。如果真要選這首，建議改編曲風，不要近似原唱的唱法，不需要用Diva的epic磅礴風格。

Well, different vocalists have different strength. Shila's comfortable range is actually on the lower side. Her trying to do what Beyonce does, she'll wreck the performance. I think this is a good interpretation that leaning to her strength.

我覺得老師這次比較直接的原因主要是因為 Listen是老師的愛曲，所以會有比較強烈的審美差異 因此會對茜拉的細節改動反應更直接表達 但並沒有說茜拉技術上的問題，主要都是提到改動上審美的喜好罷了 而大多數的亞洲歌曲基於各種原因，常常不在老師的審美上 所以不管怎麼唱 老師也不太會有太強烈的審美評論

​@@phoebeyap5221 我認為這是語言隔閡的差異。 台灣唱法流行高音弱化/柔化，或是弱混代替強混聲，因為語言理解的關係，這樣聽起來會很有感情，反而強混常常讓人覺得吵或油，但西洋的人對歌詞的理解是整體的，最小單位通常是一個句子，而不是某一個字或某個片語，所以對他們來說多數人就會很難欣賞/聽習慣一句高音裡面有幾個音符突然轉弱，就算知道動機，還是很難同感 ，這嚴格來說算是文化層次的差異了。 而我認為這也是亞洲音樂很難打入西洋的原因，因為處理方式很不同，再加上語言本身又是(相對英文而言)難以學習，難以自學。 但我覺得這種審美差異都沒錯，就是音樂的多元性~

茜拉唱別人的歌普遍不太照彷原歌手方式，擅於改為自己的音律風格，把歌曲翻出新格調。一首 最長的電影 有點驚艷到我了。雖然改到有點為了迎合中國人口味而過了點位，但並不討厭。真的是天籟之音

讲到底，是茜拉的唱功还不足以撑起这首神曲，虽然我很喜欢她。茜拉不是碧昂丝那一类的歌手，她的真声和强混，还不足以在很高的音域上轻松自如，但是为了在比赛中迎合中国观众的癖好，强行拉高，品质必然不高甚至有瑕疵。可以说，这首歌她选错了。老师不喜欢这个表演很正常。
