I’m 23, and I used to walk around talking about how awesome steelheart is (was) and none of my friends understood, so I got to introduce them into this incredible part of music. Steelheart, Warrant, Firehouse, Skid Row, Mr. Big, etc all came about at the tip-end of hair metal, but all of them had absurdly good vocals. It’s a shame their notoriety was short-lived, but thank goodness for the Internet showing us their talent.

He's one of my favorite rock singers. He's not only "good". He's got a god given gift, and the first time you hear him sing it's just exceptional. He's like an angel singing. He's always very emotionally invested that he could really sing these songs that, made by someone else, would have been cheesy and make them sound shivering.

I love Steelheart! was lucky enough to see them at sweden rock 2019! he was 54 years old at the time but still kicked so much ass! There are some clips on youtube from that concert, kickass intro on angel eyes! I think that songs like this will always have "faults" or "offpitch" notes, but, thats what makes it alive and organic. That he still manages to keep his cool and crack on is just marvelous. If you have heard the original song Like Never Before, there is a version on youtube where he actually goes higher then the original, wich is insane. In closing, Ken, you are great! informative, you explain it so everyone can understand and your understanding of music is enormous! Thanks!

I’ve seen the unplugged version of this and it’s amazing how he’s able to slide from his chest voice all the way up into his mixed voice so easy and effortlessly. Now I know he’s not using falsetto because I know that falsetto sounds fluty and has a lack of power and anyone can sing in falsetto. But just one question, does this guy have a naturally high voice or did he train for years.

Yay you are reacting to one of my requests thank you so much ken! And i agree steelheart is a great underrated band that should've gotten more recognition. My best friend always begged me to do a cover of this she said i love your voice and how you can belt out those high notes like it's nothing. How do you do that? I responded with well i just use the gift god gave me i guess(i say with a chuckle) but yeah this is one of my favorite tunes by them but they have alot of great songs. Everybody loves Eileen I'll never let you go (angel eyes) i could go on and on. Also i saw your cover of this song awhile back and you knocked it out of the park as always great job. Keep on rockin ken oh also there is an unplugged version of this song and it's amazing. I love that you mentioned white lion i actually saw them when they came to a bar in iowa called ballbreakers it's no longer open but i was star struck when i met mike tramp and the other guys in white lion that was such a fun night. I got a pic with them that i framed and 2 guitar picks that mike gave me one is white and says white lion and one is black. I that was a night i will treasure forever just like when i saw journey. You should cover when the children cry or wait or broken heart by them you have the voice for it. Sorry i keep rambling on but when i get to talking about amazing bands like this that i love sometimes i don't know when to shut up lol I'm headed to check out bob rock right now and then that live video with you in chicago. Also before i go i love bands such as boston, Ratt, Tesla(who i also got the privilege to see at the surf ballroom in clear lake iowa and meet. I'm into 80s hair metal bands along with timeless classics such as bob segar Alice cooper, Ozzy,Poison, Jackyl along with bret michaels &foreigner i saw them at the des moines fair what a show. Oh i got a good one for ya danger danger is the name of the band and the song is called "i still think about you. I think it's an acoustic version but dang they are another amazing underrated band in my book. Firehouse skid row i could go on all night but i wont lol again sorry this is so long but my passion for singing and music in general is what keeps me fighting to live another day. Going through some pretty rough stuff right now and music and singing is really helping me get through it. Have a great evening and as always keep on rockin ken!

It was 1991, early morning, I took a bus from my town to Belgrade university. I was napping and a driver luckily did not molest us with some folk music they were used to, instead a pop station was on. That was when I first heard this song. It transported me into some kind of bliss. When I arrived at the faculty and the lecture was over I asked my colleagues if they knew this song that was probably titled 'She's gone', etc, and a fellow student told me with confidence, it was a singer, Steve Heart. And years of search have begun, unsuccessfully of course. It took almost a decade to stumble upon it by accident. Still love it to this day. a great voice, a great singer.

He was rushed to the hospital and critical for a while. that incident ruined Steelheart’s career. The guitarist saw it happen and got so pissed he beat his guitar into the stage. He knew I was all over. Took Mili a few years to get himself back stage ready but by the the momentum stopped.
