Regine was trained by her late father since very young. He would submerged Regine up to her neck in the water for her strong vocals. I watched this video more than 10x i became a fan of regine at the age of 7 yrs old and now im already 37 yrs old ive seen how she completely transformed and become the queen / Asia's Songbird/ Asia's Song Goddess. Ive seen her many times in her concerts done sometimes 3 straight days 2 weeks every months just imagine the vocal power. Thank you for this video. I really really love it. When I met Regine in 1986, she was a new discovery and guested on television in the Johnny Litton show. I immediately fell in love with her voice and angelic beauty and asked for her autograph which she smilingly obliged. I remember how shy we both were to each other. In my mind, she was perfect and I have kept the little signed autograph for many many years. Alas when I left the country and came back, it was gone.

She's now 50. Yes KZ, Jona and Morisette are some of her influences. If I am not mistaken, Charice is also an influence of her. If you happen to listen to Katrina Velarde and Angeline Quinto, they are also her influence. Regine really set the bar in temrs of singing here in the Philippines. She’s 49....she was born 22nd April 1970, she was trained to sing by her father by submerging her in the water to acquire lung power, our queen of belting, our “Asia’s Songbirds” (that’s her title) ever since she won in the 1989 Asia Song Festival in Hong Kong, which she bagged the Grand Prize, she sang the piece of “You’ll Never Walk Alone”.
