“Song for A” is just beautiful - and it’s NOT a cover. Angelina was 13yo when it was recorded. She is the featured artist in this song, composer Nico Cartosio wrote this song for her and placed it as the last track on his album "Melting" - the other eight tracks are instrumental only. Some therefore consider it one of her originals. It was the composer’s intention to have a music video produced with Angelina, but due to unknown circumstances it hasn't become reality. So Yozhik v Tumane, a very talented video artist and also a Angelina fan made this lyric video. It quickly became the standard YT video for this song. To put this song into a genre isn’t easy. When asked, Alan Papier ranked it into Broadway musicals, but agreed later it also could be Cinematic for it has both a Hollywood feel to it and a Classical feel to it. Here’s the composers description on the song: “Song for A” is the only song that I wrote for the album “Melting”. And this song is the main mystery of it. It is performed by Angelina Jordan, a very young and very talented singer. I needed a bright final for my instrumental album. After the series of cold hells and “Melting” itself I longed for a song of a liberated soul, a soul that was set free from suffering. So, I remembered a beautiful poem by Robert Burns and wrote this song especially for Angelina. And she gave a sensual performance. We recorded the instrumental part on Abbey Road. This is a fine example of Angelina’s true voice, no runs, no riffs, no rasps, no enhanced vibratos, just her pure sweet voice. She was honoring the poet and the composer of the music and his orchestra. Please go back and listen to this again without interruption, especially the violin at the end. Priceless! She’s a storyteller of the highest caliber.

I'm sorry to tell you that if no use of runs no riffs no rasps and no whatever Angelina doesn't use, that's what separates a good song from a not so good song. these are techniques a singer learn to use to make the song beautiful and attractive to make you listened it.

These are not typos in the text of the words, this is1700's speak and writing. Angelina could sing the phone book and it would be a masterpiece. “Song For A” was composed for Angelina Jordan, and her alone. He composed the music and arrangement, using the Old English poem for the words. I wish this song would get more exposure. Seems to me I read that Niko was playing the violin part at the end. So beautiful! It gets me every time!

She brings us back to that period of time and tells us the story with a tone that is skipping from cloud to cloud. I did not see a comment here yet ,so I thought I would comment with a well-deserved praise to both you and Angelina. It is very easy to praise Angelina when she sings, because as you said, " no matter where you put Angelina Jordan, she thrives because the area of musicality that she has is just so broad and huge" . That just about says it all. But also it is very easy to praise you not only for taking the time to listen to and share your reactions to Angelina, but because you obviously are sincere in your reactions. They reflect a deep understanding of her talent and her interpretation and communication of the meaning of the songs she sings. It takes a real music lover and/or good musician to understand how GREAT a singer and also how GOOD a person Angelina truly is. Looking forward to more of your insightful reactions.
