The itch you refer to is NOT (just) to go on holiday, It is to take the road that leads to the Holy Day. Hard as it may seem to believe, the "jack be nimble" bit (from an English nursery rhyme) refers to a (Mediaeval?) game by which we make various agile jumps over a lit candle without putting out the flame. The purpose of the game, and the message of the song, is thus clear - our lives are a long and hard road, but we should never let the flame of the Holy Spirit go out as we pass along it the Holy Day at the end! I take this message so seriously (now), that I am living it. And, far from being a serious life, it is one that has a lot of joy in it - including the joy we see above!!!
