People tends to forget Sun Breathing is the precursor of all breathing techniques, meaning that between each style there is a big gap, but between Sun breathing and the others is easy to become familiar with moves and styles, specially the basic ones like Water, Flames, Thunder, Air and Stone, a Sun breathing user should have some familiarity, as they come from his style itself

I feel like others would struggle a lot - and even if they could use techniques like this, I still don’t think it would fit certain fighting styles. Why waste energy on something when you can put it into something stronger? (Like your main breathing) Although I do feel like this is how people create their own breathing, by seeing which main breathing they fit into, and if that doesn’t work, just branch off from there?

Yea but it also shows how difficult it is to actually even learn another form of breathing. Just about noone is capable of using more than 1 form. I think tanjiro while trying to imitate zenitsu, is precisely that, a pale imitation to the true version. It's an impressive feat but nowhere near as quick as zenitsu's. I mean speed is basically zenitsu's niche. While I'm not even sure if tanjiro even mastered water breathing. I have this faint memory about tanjiro's water breathing being flawed. It seems like there's a big difficultly learning more than 1 style.

I think the only reason tanjiro can use multiple forms is because he is uses sun breathing; which is where all the main forms came from. The love hashira was rengokus student and tried to learn flame breathing but couldnt(which is how she created love breathing; by putting her own style into flame breathing)
