i am not major in music or vocals and all that. But for me, Siti Nurhaliza is brilliance in singing. She clearly understood her vocal range and register. Even herself admit that Liza Hanim's and a fellow Jaclyn Victor is at higher range, which makes them a great belter with powerful voice. Even her voice is a common female singing voice, But she knows when to soften her voice or put dynamic and resonance through her performance which makes her singing sound pleasant . Siti's melodious voice somehow sound ethereal. She's like a singing fairy. Sometimes i feel, a celtic songs would suit her voice nicely.

Actually Liza is respectable and popular too. She's known as one of the great vocalists in Malaysia. One thing though, she took quite a long break after getting married and have kids. She slowed down her career to focus on family. Slowed down meaning no new songs. It's risky, because new singers come out every day, without new song you're just going to fade away. But I'm happy to see that about 5 years ago, she started to be active again, releasing new music and performing everywhere.

Siti has said even at the beginning of her career, that she’s not a belter. Even recently, when she did a duet with Aina, Siti said she’s doesn’t have the range that Aina has, and that she can’t sing as high as Aina, so she’s using her advantages instead, which is feel and emotion, to deliver the song. I think that’s why you can never hear Siti sings badly, because she knows her capabilities, she knows her weakness and advantages.

But high note is not everything. She can hit higher in several occasion but she chooses to b in her comfortable range. But she has more than enough with her singing skill n without such a crazy belt she won many competition not only in msia but outside msia too.a great singet is not a belter

For vocal teacher like dato syafinaz she doesnt take it as d priority but just a wow factor unless it is on d right tract n beautifully done.one thing about tok ti she is an intelligent singer n she is not a show off kind of singer n not trying hard to go beyond her limit.if she does so so rare n beautifully done. She has other skills n sings sweetly n according to a character n mood of a song. I've just realized that another advantage CT got in her voice is when she sings "sebelum tirai dusta"... The way she sings 'dusta' at 11:03, flute-like sound no one can sing like that. Same like how her technique, "takkan mungkin kita bertahan", she sings 'takkan' & "hidup dlm kesendirian", she sings 'hidup' in Seindah Biasa. Which often people miss to hear.

Yeay another reaction to Dato' Sri Siti Nurhaliza and also Liza Hanim both have been in the industry more than 2 decades! Fyi, the first song was Siti Nurhaliza's debut song called 'Jerat Percintaan' (very popular up until today) then the second song was 'Gelisah Mimpi' by Liza Hanim followed by the last song of Siti Nurhaliza called 'Cindai' (evergreen traditional song). This performance was a tribute to the founder of SRC RECORDS where he(Mr. Tan) has been awarded with the biggest award at AIM 23 that night because of his major contribution to the music industry under his company Suria Records. Not to forget both of them (Siti Nurhaliza and Liza Hanim) was once under that record label during their involvement in music career. In Malaysia traditional songs used to be popularised by Siti Nurhaliza and Noraniza Idris. The latter was basically the Queen of traditional songs here. (Traditional songs are usually called Irama Malaysia, which means "Malaysian beats") There is also another genre that is also quite traditional but more party like that's called Dangdut. It's a regional thing (Indonesia+Malaysia+Brunei). You should check em out Yazik. Haha

Goshhh so many things to say but first of course thanks to Yazik for reacting to this and i love ur honesty and opinion thats what matters to us of course.. They both sang the first verse of their own song so that makes it first and third song are Siti's ..Those songs are quite popular in here u will listen to them when u go thru ur AJL series but Liza Hanim didnt win AJL but she did won the very first Best Vocal Performance through Gelisah Mimpi.. I kinda agree that Liza is more of a belter she belt so much better than Siti but of course Siti is more proficient singing Traditional songs she has many traditional albums.. Liza Hanim can sing traditional and have some traditional songs too but not better than Siti for sure.. They both have their own strengths.. With no doubt, they are both at equal level in terms of singing they can do many genres the only difference is Siti come into scene a year earlier than Liza in 1996 (Liza debuted in 1997 ) and it was an era people love these sweet sultry young girly vocals.. Siti and Liza sound so much alike when theyre young and few other young female singers at that time too at some point some people did say its a typical young female voices.. Both are very good friend they debuted in same recording company been on same photoshoot and magazine, performed together so many times it was so lovely to see them both im glad they have no beef despite everything that happen now

Yes Siti doesnt have a high range (chest mainly) to begin with. Just for your info during the chorus of the song where Siti sang, the key was lowered to accomodate to Siti's limited range.
