Many people didn't pick up on the fact that this was a tribute to John Williams. All these scores were written by John Williams.

This is one of the best reactions I have seen. I know you did this a while ago but this is my first time seeing you. What I loved was seeing your joy and connection to each piece and yeah, I'm guilty of burning eye syndrome myself. Voctave has a way of getting that response. If you really want to lose it, try "Where are you Christmas". It's brutal

Never be ashamed to cry :) being a man has nothing to do with it and we need to stop teaching young boys that they can't cry because it isn't "manly". Fully expressing your emotions makes you much stronger in my opinion. I cried too!!! Something about nostalgia does it for me.

🥺🩷 This was such a great reaction! Voctave is such a special group. Every member is a former or current Disney performer. I would recommend “The Prince of Egypt Medley,” and “The Showstoppers Medley.” If you ever have the opportunity to see them live, they do sound EXACTLY the same in person. You can also listen to The Voices of Liberty at Epcot. Many of them are in Voctave. Also, a musical recommendation. Aurora’s “Through the Eyes of a Child.” ❤

Love ur reaction Voctave is an extremely under represented group on this platform compared to groups like pentatonix but imo voctave has a more classic style of harmonization You can tell by how closely they match some of the original songs

So much fun listening to Voctave. I remembered the song as they were started, because I watched these shows so many times. Surprises my sons when they realize what books or movies their old mom likes. They thought I would like chick flix..nope. Anyway thank you, it was fun.

Oh that's so neat. I've worked in film a bit myself, just local Canadian stuff, but I absolutely love the magic of film. The only real "Famous" thing that filmed close to me, was the original My Bloody Valentine that filmed in Sydney Mines, Nova Scotia... and I mean The Mist tv series, as well as Locke & Key, Trailer Park Boys. But nothing like being able to say ET filmed in your neighborhood. That is so cool.

Movies (books and game stories too) made a terrific escape as a kid. They are my “vacations” to this day. And a good soundtrack makes everything better. Do you have a favorite movie soundtrack of all time??? Thanks Dan for reviewing this…
@DanFromHali3 жыл бұрын
Yes, and there's a lot of videogames out there that wouldn't be the same without their amazing scores. As for my favorite movie soundtrack, I really don't know. Superman is definitely up there though. Superman, Back To The Future, Godfather. And I'd also say, while it has more of a jukebox soundtrack than a traditional score, one of my favorite pieces of music from a film, that I don't think gets enough credit is "You're So Cool" by Hans Zimmer from, True Romance.

Awesome Dan. I too liked Harry Potter movies, won't read the books. One always disappoints The blonde on the very end hitting the super high notes, I think use to be with Celtic Women
@DanFromHali3 жыл бұрын
Oh really? Thats pretty cool.
@embran84868 ай бұрын
Kate Lott wasn´t part of them, i think you confuse her with Hayley Westenra. Same purity in high notes. Kate ges higher though. And the other blonde Tiffany gives Meav vibes. But I get the confusion. They easily could be part of them. Voctave was the first singing group that gave me as much musical bliss as Celtic Woman.

I avoided the Harry Potter books for years, because some of the people who recommended it to me back then, have terrible taste. Then during the COVID era, I had access to a service that gave me access to a lot of audiobooks, which I could play in the background while doing other things, and I took advantage of that to listen to some books that I would not have wanted to take the time to read otherwise. I finally got to War and Peace, for example, and yes, also, the Harry Potter series. The thing that struck me more than anything else about the Harry Potter series, is that the first six books have basically zero character development. Pretty much every single character (aside from maybe Snape, arguably), is a one-dimensional stereotype with no significant unique characteristics. I am prepared to excuse the author for making the lead character, Harry, dimensionless, on the grounds that he's supposed to be an "everyman" character so that a wide variety of readers can identify with him. Fine. Furthermore, though this is a bit of a stretch, I'm prepared to be generous and allow a similar argument to apply to Hermione Granger, on the grounds that she's the lead female character and maybe girls who read the book would want to identify with her. But there's no excuse for such major characters as Ron and Dumbledore and Hagrid and Malfoy, to have no significant individualized character development that deviates in any way from their core stereotype for book after book after book. It's just bad writing, period. The last book in the series, finally does some actual character development. But that far into the series, it's far too little, much too late. And yes, Voctave has a soprano-1 that can induce feelings of inadequacy in a piccolo. The live action Peter Pan movie that makes people cry is Hook, but that came out in the early nineties, and you can tell, because it's an important plot point in the movie that normal people can't afford cellphones, and having one is a mark of being someone super important in the fast-paced big-city business world. That didn't age well.
