When I saw what video you'd be reacting to, my first thought was: "He's gonna love this!" As for a second thought: Maybe the camera treats Ella as partially invisible because her beautiful (shiny) black coat is reflecting some of the green from the green screen. Oh, and as far as I'm concerned, you never have to apologize for a pupper co-host.

Plot twist: Ella is actually transparent in real-life so the greenscreen gets picked up from behind her :P

That push and pull sound and their body movements really shows that once upon a dream is truly a Waltz. You can almost feel the sway and spin to the dance of the waltz. Again very Cinematic

Gorgeous reaction. In regards to ‘character’ in the voice, i think they were mirroring the fact that as Disney princess get more modern, they get more uniqueness as character. Also from a technique standpoint, it’s easier to put a lot of character into a mezzo line, closer to normal speaking range. The need to maintain the ‘line’ in a super high soprano register can limit the ability to bring in different colours or choices. They’re all spectacular of course, but I think it’s a combination of those two things.

If I hadn't fallen in love with your reactions already (and after watching 3 back to back I pretty much had), seeing you so enraptured that you didn't know what else to do but bust out the Macarena would have tipped me over that particular edge.

firstly, Queen in 5 Minutes is the best thing ever created, and I am convinced that the only reason it's third in that list is because those who voted the other 2 simply haven't been exposed to Q5M's wonder & glory. secondly, this was my first time listening to Voctave. my acapella experience has been mainly VoicePlay and sometimes Home Free, and once in a blue moon Pentatonix. almost entirely male, and never more than 5 individuals. this was a whole new animal to me. the richness and fullness of sound, and the predominance of the female voice, were a real treat. it also struck me when we got these long, drawn-out melodies that never seemed to stop, that with such a group you can pull that off. with so many participants, one person can take a breath and another can pick up the melody and carry it forward, so that it seems continuous. not easily done with a fivesome such as Voiceplay, etc. another treat. I'm not generally a princess-y type or one who regularly employs or enjoys pink, but this was very nice. and lastly, but not leastly, that dog is adorable. what a sweet little interlude on my Sunday afternoon.

I dont know if this will make sense but I am an animator/cartoonist and I find their singing sounds "Cinematic" I hope that makes sense. I appreciate your explanation of music and singing because as an animator we have to draw and animate the characters mouth and facial/body movements to match the voice actors performance in the studio. Love the reactions. Very nice tie vest and shirt combo. I usually tie a full Windsor knot but what is the one you have tied called? Cheers and take care. 👍😎

Voctave is normally 11 people, though they have recorded using as few as 8. Watch their "The Great Movie Medley", where they pay homage to the Great John Williams and some of his most famous movie theme songs. There is only one song they do that has lyrics. They are an ORCHESTRA!

If you love Voctave, watch their video of “A Million Dreams“ with the Vocal Majority. Then watch a Vocal Majority video. You will hear amazing similarities in arranging, phrasing, harmonies, etc. I think Voctave modeled themselves after the Vocal Majority. Both groups are amazing.

Mortius, I watched this reaction by you…Only the second reaction of yours that I have listened to… and like the thirty plus other reactions to this composition, you missed one important thing about the arrangement. The background vocals were a reaction to the environment of each song. Cinderella, had the BGVs doing a waltz. Little mermaid started with bubbles, then waves, then a storm at sea. Mulan was improvised by the producer. Snow White stuck to the period, and Pocahontas had the BGVs simulating wind. It mystifies me why no one gets that. BTW , the producer is the guy second from the left.
