Everytime I see a comment saying "I cried" or something like that I always assume they're being not literal, they just want to say that whatever they're commenting touched them. I'm a bit cynical in that sense. But boy oh boy, I quite literally shed a tear hearing this. The fact that this song was such a big part of my childhood surely helped, but the little boy singing really got me. Amazing, everyone was outstanding. Thanks for warming this little wrinkly heart of mine.

Christmas was my mother's favorite holiday. She always had a way of making it special. Since she passed 2 years ago, it's been so hard to enjoy this time of year. I never cared much for this song, but I'm sitting here, listening, tearing up as I watch a little boy and his mother sing about finding the spirit of the season again after having lost it. Thank you, so much. I love you all.

Both of my folks passed away in 2015 and they loved Christmas. 😥 When my sister and I were young, they would allow us to decorate the house, often with ghastly results...but they would tell us how wonderful it looked. But after they passed, Christmas has not been the same since and it takes a lot of effort to find joy in decorating our home.😣 Yeah, this song made me weep hard 😭 when I first heard it.

Can I say the baritone part is absolute magic. It just fills this music with a sense of warmth and peace. Sometimes, well a lot of times this so called minor part is overlooked or not acknowledged of its importance in music. What amazes me is how amazing that little man is! He did such an amazing job, made my heart melt! So adorable! And the mothers voice was so angelic, but what also amazes me is how her voice is so beautiful and also its so motherly and warm. Its like listening to my mother sing to me when I was younger. Thats what makes it so beautiful about her voice is that very feeling she gives when she sings!

I adore Voctave. They are just...PERFECTION. But this latest song is even better. And when I read about how they have been waiting for Gael to be old enough to sing this song with them ever since he was born and how Ashely has been teaching and singing it with him for years, I could not help but think of... God and of His waiting for us to grow, so we could sing the song He has intended for us - the Song of Our Salvation. He wrote the music even before the Earth was created. Pitch perfect. And for all the parts that might seem difficult, He wrote a harmony that would sustain the melody. In Bethlehem He started writing the lyrics and He finished them at Calvary, with the last words written with His blood... That is how much He loved us. And still does. That is how much patience He had. And still does. The lyrics of Voctave's song are poignant and describe an adult who has lost the joys of childhood, who cannot recognize himself and who misses the good old days. But the good news is that even if Christmas might feel astranged, Christ is still near. And He is the Reason for the season, right? The solution the song finds is to keep love in your heart&mind. I have a son too, a not-too-sweet preteen at the moment. This last christmas he knocked over the tree wrestling the dog and blessed me with a bill for a new full set of christmas lights and an emergency visit to the vet but nevertheless he still is my baby and watching this video just helps me calm my feelings and remember back to when he was just as sweet and innocent as Gael is.
