I don't have the the time to watch the entire VOD but I'll say this from the short snippets I've seen. You're playing with a friend, so let the friend handle the stuff they're good at and you handle the things you're good at. A sort of a "You scratch my back I'll scratch yours." Let the Woodie chop wood and you, as Wormwood, can plant seeds on the ground. You can collect Glommer at the Pig King Birch Forests on Full Moons, while your friend cannot. Your friend can summon and deal extra damage to Treeguards, while you cannot. Learn to fight, cook, whatever. I should've said this in the first paragraph, but DST is a game that requires a lot of knowledge to be learnt. You can play the way you want, however. I'm not forcing you to be able to survive. A general guide: Get a science machine -> Get an Alchemy Engine. This will allow you to craft most non-specialized-crafting-station items in the game. Then you can make Crock Pots. Crock Pots are nice, but you'll also have to learn the recipes for good foods. The one you want to know is Perogies. Meat, Veg, Egg, Filler (No sticks) will create a dish that heals 40 Health. Eggs can be harvested from a Birdcage (crafted with an Alchemy Engine) with a Bird (that you will have to catch on your own with a Bird Net) basically by exchanging 1 Meat for 1 Egg. When you learn to survive in Autumn, Winter will be coming. You absolutely will have to fight creatures for meat and then use those meats in Crock Pot dishes to keep your hunger full. Creatures will have kiting patterns that you will have to learn. The beginner's guide to Sanity management: Find the desert(s). Cacti grow in the desert, respawn every 2 days, are renewable source of Vegetables for Crock Pot dishes, and when cooked, restore 15 sanity. They are the easiest Sanity management food in the game. A side note is (I've already mentioned this) in Birch Forests, there will be a chance of a Pig Village. This Pig Village(that has a Pig King) will have a Glommer statue on the outskirts. This Glommer Statue will spawn a flower on Full Moons. Pick this Flower for Glommer, the non-hostile critter which will regenerate a very measly amount of Sanity if you stay near it. It's good for killing or keeping around as a friend. Addendum: Explore your world! You will have to learn to explore your world and pick supplies and walk all walks. That way you can find the places where there are resources! You're also going to be almost always on the move in order to not waste time. That's how you get mats/food/new places discovered. Even if you don't think it's useful, being on the move stops you from doing nothing, which is not useful. Addedndum 2: Haha you're going to have to learn to punch butterflies. Ctrl + F to attack anything near you. Do this next to a Butterfly doing an idle animation to kill it or attack it while chasing it. Both work and Butterflies will give very very VERY free early/mid/late game healing and hunger, except for you(Wormwood). Addendum 3: Nobody really uses boats. They function as cool bridges but thats really it because boats don't really do anything for us.

Hey thanks for all the advice! This game is pretty difficult. I'll pass this info on to my friend who's playing it with me. Also, gonna try editing vods down in the future so they're easier to watch. I'm just getting used to this.
