Repeating what was said so many times before. I wish I had heard this before I got married. Young, dumb,and then divorced. Six years later, and God blessed me with a God fearing husband.

Because of the feminist movement, a one income household is almost impossible to sustain without living at or below the poverty line. I cannot choose to stay home with my children and raise and teach them without being on government programs. I have to give my children to the state to raise and teach. I can choose to fight against this, but then I lose that almost necessary second income. So thanks to feminism, I have to choose between paying my bills and the thing I want to do most, raise my own children. However I agree with Voddie, I would rather be poor than give up my role as a mother, wife and teacher. I would rather be poor than give my children to strangers who are instructed by our very corrupt government.

+Brianne Moore I am sorry to hear that you have a one-income household. That must be a struggle to sustain and I do not envy you that. Hopefully you will find a Godly man to marry who will change everything. Praying for you.

My father suffered with alzheimers and has passed away 4 years ago. I haven't always be submissive (in fact, i was pretty rebellious growing up) but since God started working in me i have looked to submit to church authority, my boss and my brother. Is this unbiblical? Would have been nice to hear someone talk about true exceptional cases
@louievricco52
@louievricco52 9 жыл бұрын
It is not unbiblical sister because the word of God commends us to submit to the elders of the church (recommend reading Titus 1:5-9) meaning those with spiritual maturity Who were called to preach sound doctrine. Why? So they can guide you according to the truth and sound doctrine. Now the issue is there are plenty of so call churches thats not leading according to the word of God or biblical truth, instead they leading according to false doctrine. It is your responsibility to continue seeking the scriptures and questions anything you've heard thats sound fish and dont understand.
@NoahBuie
@NoahBuie 3 жыл бұрын
@@louievricco52 You don't HAVE to submit to elders, as in, they dictate every single thing that you do in your life. You have to be careful. We listen to what t church advises to do, and then we read scripture to see if the church lines up with what God's word is saying.

People always talking about rights, equality, and what the other person is doing to prevent them from following Gods will. As in the Lord or it is fitting should be enough. Jesus was abused beyond recognition and yet He did not sin. In fact, He submitted unto death. The examples are there, so stop looking for reasons not to follow the instructions given to men and women and children. Thank you Jesus.

I feel, that if the parents are not submissive to what God has called them to be, then the authority that they should ultimately be looking towards anyways would be God Himself. I agree, that abusive parenting relationships cannot be tolerated, but at the same time, unless you can say that what these parents are doing to these children are not for the children's benefit, not in the name of what the Bible has taught them to be, then they should still be submissive.

# **Part 4 - The Better Half** **Understanding the Call to Submission in Marriage** In the context of marriage, the call to submission is often misunderstood and misrepresented. Despite societal misconceptions, biblical submission is not about oppression or inequality, but rather about mutual respect, partnership, and honoring God's design for marriage. Embracing submission in marriage involves recognizing the authority structure outlined in scripture and choosing to align with God's principles, even when they conflict with cultural norms. It's essential to discern between societal narratives and biblical truths, understanding that submission in marriage is a reflection of Christ's sacrificial love and the church's response, aiming for mutual flourishing and spiritual alignment. 00:08 **Understanding Submission in Marriage** Submission in marriage, as outlined in biblical teachings, is often misunderstood as oppression. However, it is crucial to comprehend that submission is about order, not value. The Greek term 'hupotasso,' translated as submission, denotes voluntarily ranking oneself beneath another, emphasizing organizational structure rather than superiority. In military contexts, individuals follow orders not based on value but on hierarchical structure. Similarly, in marriage, submission does not diminish the worth of either partner but establishes a framework for relational order. It's important to recognize that submission is voluntary; it cannot be coerced or imposed. Both partners play distinct roles, and submission is a mutual, voluntary choice that reflects the biblical model of partnership and respect. 06:26 **The Importance of Order in Biblical Submission** Understanding biblical submission involves recognizing its connection to the order established by God. In the narrative of Genesis and the Fall, the disruption of this order led to the introduction of sin. Submission is not about diminishing value but about adhering to God's intended structure for relationships. It begins with submission to the Lord and extends to mutual submission within marriage, rooted in Ephesians 5:21. Contextual understanding is essential, tracing back to Ephesians 5:15, which reveals contrasts, commands, and contexts that illuminate the significance of submission within the broader Christian walk. 12:00 **The Significance of Biblical Submission in Relationships** Biblical submission extends beyond mere obedience; it reflects a deeper spiritual alignment with God's authority structure. Submission to God is manifested through obedience to proper biblical authority in various contexts, including marriage, parenthood, and societal roles. Understanding biblical submission entails acknowledging and adhering to the hierarchical order established by God, which fosters harmony, respect, and spiritual growth within relationships. 17:24 **Submission to Proper Authority: A Biblical Imperative** Submission to proper authority, as outlined in biblical teachings, extends beyond mere obedience and reflects a deeper spiritual alignment with God's ordained order. Whether it's honoring parental authority, respecting marital roles, or adhering to societal structures, biblical submission fosters harmony, respect, and spiritual growth. Understanding and practicing submission to proper authority is essential for individuals to reflect Christ-like humility and obedience in all aspects of life. 22:51 **Prioritizing the Home: A Biblical Mandate** The biblical model of marriage prioritizes the home as the central focus of a woman's life. This prioritization involves loving and nurturing one's husband and children, maintaining a sensible and industrious lifestyle, and exemplifying virtues such as kindness and wisdom. While emphasizing the importance of home, it does not negate a woman's potential for personal and professional growth. Rather, it underscores the significance of aligning one's priorities with biblical principles for a fulfilling and purposeful life. 28:39 **The Noble Priority of Family Devotion** The paramount importance of prioritizing family over material pursuits is underscored, emphasizing the profound significance of a woman's dedication to her home and children. Sacrificing one's personal ambitions for the well-being and nurturing of the family is not only honorable but also vital for fostering strong, enduring relationships. This commitment reflects a deep sense of fulfillment and purpose, transcending worldly achievements and leaving a lasting legacy of love and devotion. 34:57 **The Divine Blueprint for Marriage** Marriage must align with God's design and requirements, irrespective of societal norms or cultural expectations. It is paramount to adhere to the biblical principles governing marriage, regardless of the world's perceptions or opinions. Straying from God's blueprint for marriage only leads to disillusionment and discord, while embracing His divine plan brings fulfillment and harmony to couples' lives.

My mother was a stay at home mom who was too poor to afford sanitary towels for my sister and I. Dad was a minimum wage guy who couldn't make ends meet. I decided to have a career and take care of myself. I despised looking up to a man for basic necessities. I grew up hating my mother's life. It felt like self inflicted poverty and it really strained their marriage, a lot of emotional and physical abuse.
