Overall, I think this collection is the most “everyday girl” wearable styles I have seen in a while. Still, very avant-garde and high fashion, but I think there were more pieces that I could see myself in.

Lindsey, I have worn my cape for over 30 years and live in the Pacific Northwest. I have no help and yet have driven a car, hiked, nursed children, looked sporty or chic while I raise my arms and shop, etc. Are you sure you weren't wearing a straight jacket??? ;D hahahaha. I love a cape to throw on running out the door, wearing with statement sleeves and mine is quite long to keep the cold off. Almost like wearing a comfy blanket. and omg, I was writing this when you said the next coat looked like a straight jacket. LOL.

V1844 is a Chanel inspiration. They just had a show and it looks a lot like two of the looks they sent down the runway, it was quite a fun fashion show actually, the format, the music and the way they sent the runway was a lot of fun. Kudos to Vogue, I’ll be purchasing that pattern.

You are absolutely right, if you type 1960's coat you find a tone of this silhouette. Miu Miu didn't invente anything revolutionary. Let's be honest. designers get inspired by previous fashion and sewing pattern get inspired by curent fashion. No need to be upset. The people who sew their own clothes didn't wait for Vogue to get inspired by designers. There's no way Vogue pattern will create prejudice in Miu Miu's business. On the contrary, we talk about it now, it is subliminal publicity...

I love all the Vogue designs and feel they are classy and modern. Once you start sewing Vogue and wearing them it is hard to get enthusiastic about an everyday ordinary pattern from the other brands, although of course there are still a few gorgeous ones like the roused asymmetrical blouse from Simplicity just released. Even the Easy Vogue have beautiful style lines and seem to be in style for years. I encourage everyone to pick one Vogue to sew. It’s a game changer. I love the vintage designer Vogue too. Thank you for your review. Still smiling from some of your comments. Lol

Personally I would never be friends with anyone who complained if I sewed a haute couture knock-off. So I don't see it as a problem. To my knowledge you can't patent sewing patterns. If it's not a patent, you can legally copy it.

I like this Vogue collection! A modern take on couture fashion, maybe.....vintage Vogue patterns 60's to the 80's and earlier were definitely high fashion, couture designs in my opinion. Thank you for going through each piece, describing the seaming, etc. It was fun for me to watch this. I really loved the first white shirt. I am excited to make that. It just looks like fun to wear. I will look like a house in it, but who cares anyway? I will like it. My Mother used to sew with Vogue patterns and I would hear several, 'Oh Nooo' and 'I can't believe I did that' coming out of her sewing room...but she persisted and they all came out beautifully. This will be the toughest for me yet with Vogue so please wish me luck! I really did like many of the items except for the dresses that reminded me of potato sacks. I have never liked those shapes. The Tilton pattern was really pretty tame for her and I liked it. Thank you very much for going over all of these pieces for us. Very time consuming on your part and detailed too. I really appreciated this. Take Good Care!

These were the garments that inspired me as a new sewist, so I told myself that they're just like easy patterns as long as I break every step into 2-3 mini steps. My first garment was an Issey Myake corset suit jacket - and I had no sewing background - just learned by watching KZbin. Sewing is the most awesome hobby!

I'm wondering, was there the same furor when Butterick put out their knock off of Mrs. Trump's inaugural coat? I would expect pattern companies to recreate these styles for us. Fashion has been emulated throughout time. This is a tempest in a tea pot.

Mrs. Trump's inaugural coat is V1736. It probably did cause a run to shops. I've always admired Lauren's work. I made the jacket in a gold embossed denim that I wore over a strapless jumpsuit. Yes, fashion has always been emulated from Joan Crawford's Letty Lynton dress to inaugural coats and royal wedding dresses. I can't believe there are people out there upset about pattern companies coping fashion designers! This has been going since the creation of commercial patterns. Dior and Chanel in the 40's and 50's Calvin Klein and others in 70s and 80's. If you follow designer runway and Vogue Magazine you recognized designer knockoffs in every issue. I don't get the sudden outrage. I doubt that MuiMui or Kamela Harris's stepdaughter cares! If anything they're flattered !!

Think how cool these would have looked against a black background with a spotlight and glitter thrown all around for the holiday season. Where's the super fun, dramatic holiday makeup? Graphic eyeshadow in bright colors, super glossy, sparkly lips, festive hair... These guys always give me a rage headache with their styling!!!!!!!!!!! On a positive note, there was the bejeweled Miu Miu coat, which reminds me that I can add some gemstones to any number of perfectly fine coat patterns already in my stash. (smug face) The next coat, with the bustle in back - that's a Vogue pattern if I've ever seen one! Get into my stash, you lovely thing! That white peplum top with all the all the pleats (in spite of the choke-y, makeup smearing collar) is going into the old stash too. I think it will rejuvenate the elephant-leg trousers and floor length velvet skirt from 2 or 3 year ago. It will look so money with some shredded jeans too. I am madly in love with the Claire Shaeffer "straight jacket". It reminded me of a deconstructed blazer and shirt reconfigured into a single 1940's-esque garment. I was envisioning it in a combination of black silk satin, ivory duchesse silk, softest pink silk crepe. Otherwise, I'd make it in some black and navy blue suitings in different patterns, leaving some seams unfinished and exposed to play up the deconstructed look. In you go! The jacket with the crazy, pointy collar, I'm getting JUST FOR THE COLLAR! I am 1000000000% there for the fly collar! How fun would that jacket look made up in bright, moto colors and a metal zipper with 1970's circle pull? Can you even imagine the Angela Davis hotness? The blaxpoitation hepness? I can, and I will be accessorizing it will large hoop ear rings! That mod twiggy dress is as good as mine too. What to say, other than if you're shy about showing too much leg, wear it with opaque/semi-opaque tights for modesty. Or if you don't shave your legs in the winter like someone I know who's not me. Those pleather pants were hottt too; if I had a small waist, I'd get them. Vogue should have included a pattern for the one-shouldered leotard top the model's wearing with these pants and the deep scoop-back top worn with the wrap around skirt. Oh jeeze, just remembered I need that beautiful jumpsuit and the vintage cape to boot. It seems like every time there's a bad economy or especially war, fashion veers into femininity. This collection bears it out.

My goodness! You've got my wheels churning. I recently pulled out my Claude Montana collection. Looking to stitch up V2450, finally! Sleeves are having their moment and collars are not too far behind, so V1840 (perhaps in a burgundy snake print pleather or a hot pink suede, both already in the stash) is added to my basket. I agree the one shoulder and scoop back tops should have been included in the patterns. They caught my attention first. But I think I can work with M7561 (look at the line drawings) for the scoop back and S8386 for the one shoulder top. The white pleated blouse is definitely being added to my collection. Yes, this collection is pretty darn good.

Love Vogue!! Especially 1841 dress, 1845 blouse( which I must have-and perhaps will make for Spring)....I think I would not button it all the way up, but leave the collar "free", I think it is just gorgeous! 1847 very cute sweater, 1830 nice jacket-that one I love the collar detail as well-would love to make in vegan leather-a must have! 1853, that is tempting to get to perhaps make my DH a coat for next winter-I don't have time this winter-too many irons in the fire, so to speak... 1844-now I think that could be shortened slightly-and be worn as a real knock out tunic, I also think it could come down to just grazing the knee and look fabulous-another must have! 1848 very cool pant very tempting. 1851-loved that a lot, probably will find it's way into my stash for the future! Great review, thank you!

Is that would explain why it fits one of the women better. The white peplum blouse is to die for. I would probably shorten that caller stand though. I also love the funnel neck top. I bought the straight jacket pattern but I cannot imagine actually making it. It looks terribly difficult to make and not easy to fit either. But I think it's absolutely gorgeous. I like so many of these patterns but I don't think I would ever want to sew with synthetic leather. Other than a bomber jacket I don't think I'd want to wear synthetic leather.
